Back after break

Hello everyone,

So I joined Folksy a few months back and got very dishearted when I had absolutely no sales at all despite all my efforts. I actually even considered giving up altogether.

At the start of October, I managed to secure a spot at a local art gallery and I have been making a lot of sales through my stall there. I put my Folksy into holiday mode and basically ignored it.

On Thursday my stall had to close (like everywhere else) and I brought a lot of my stuff home to stock my shop with. I spent today listing (and tomorrow too) and I wondered if you would oblige a noob by going over and having a look. I no longer believe I am rubbish as stuff sold from the gallery so maybe I am rubbish at online selling? Could you critique my descriptions, photos, prices…am I overcharging? Am I doing something wrong? I have a few more bits to list tomorrow so there will be a bigger variety but I just wanted to get your opinions if you have a few seconds.

Thank you for anyone that can help. I really, really appreciate it!

Welcome back! Your photos are lovely.

Just looking at this listing: https://folksy.com/items/7603668-Dream-Dragon-Pebble-Pets

Perhaps use some more/different tags? I think very few people will search ‘dream dragon’ but might search ‘handpainted paperweight’, ‘gift for children’, ‘gift for fantasy fan’ etc. Maybe mention the weight of the pebble as well? That’s useful to know.

Best of luck!

I find that there is too much going on with your pictures which doesn’t make your items stand out. They want to pop. I would try taking a photo of the item on it’s own and not quite as close up. Have a look at what other people are doing and see if this helps you. Now is the best time for selling so hopefully things will pick up for you.
