Card Readers for Craft Shows

I am starting to think of doing a few shows here and there. The new little craft shop that I put my things in locally has a few full shows a few times a year and I think, for me working full time, they may be doable. So, it has made me think of logistics and knowing I am see in card payment available at many stalls now.
I want to see if it is actually feasible.
Which ones do you use?

I have used SumUp for years, very good, instant money transfer. Works over Wi-Fi both supplied by the venue and my phone network. Being British found them excellent to deal with.

Which reader do you have?

I’ve got a zettle (part of paypal now) been with them for years. No monthly fee, low % on transactions and money is automatically sent to my bank (fair on saturday, money in bank by tuesday). Card reader it’s self (reader 2) was about £30 one off payment and it runs in conjunction with an app so needs either wifi or mobile data/ signal. Very easy to use.

Do tou pay a fee to Zettle and then the paypal fee?

No, its a single fee to zettle (they used to be a company in their own right but got bought out by paypal). Paypal also have their own card readers (paypal here i think its called) but ive never used those).

Another SumUp user here, no issues with mine so far, I don’t remember the model but it’s just the basic one and cost about £30 to buy.

The reason PayPal bought iZettle , was because they had so much trouble with their own card reader, wouldn’t hold the charge long, kept disconnecting from the phone app etc.

Paypal Here has been phased out since they bought Zettle.

I use Square, low commission % and quick payout. Not had any issues.
