Hello!
I thought I’d share my new pinterest board with you in Folksy’s ‘fancy a cuppa’ - it’s called Childhood.
It recalls a lot of things that I had grown up seeing, using or experiencing in the 1970s and 1980s, including some early crafting!! Take a look and why not step back in time and have fun building your own memory board too!
What a lovely trip down memory lane, I’m very familiar with all of it.
Love it! It looks a lot like my own boards! I always maintain I was hard done by, but then realise, when I look at Pinterest, I had so much of the stuff of the moment. Still have a lot of it now! Desperate for someone to relaunch Spangles though.
Great stuff… I have a very similar board from the same era on my pinterest too. Most things I remembered but a fair few I had forgotten about and was rather nostalgic!
Hence I called my board “Nostalgia - A trip down memory lane” .
I also had some similar crafting kits… pom pom kits, basket weaving, knitting nancy, plasticraft, etc.
(Neonne Luna on pinterest)
I also have one for my kids from late 1990’s onwards as they have already forgotten about some things!
I don’t tend to stay in the past but it’s cool to look back on

I adored spangles!! Also Toffo’s.
I was over the moon when I found an image of Cracknel too, loved that stuff!
What a wonderful board! It has brought back so many memories - I’m feeling very nostalgic now.
Lots of fun memories on this board! Our very first telephone is there, still remember the number now even though I can hardly remember what day it is!
One crafty memory I have from the 60s is the ‘cut out and ready to sew’ clothes my mum would buy me from Woman’s Realm. When the kit arrived, she always used it to cut out another outfit in contrasting or coordinating fabric so that I had lots of mix and match clothes.
I have a childhood memory board too, work in progress …
lots of memories to be had
Hi all!
Glad it bought you all some happy memories! It was so nostalgic for me too! Seeing the photos pinned just sparked my brain to search for specific things, such as my earliest memory of the shiny chrome electric kettle. When v young I asked my mum if I could have it when I was grown up!
I loved it’s reflective qualities and even drew it in my art class at secondary school. I’ll try to find your boards today for any additional steals!! Times were hard in the 70s, so jumble sales or hand me downs were great for books or toys as well as fabrics/clothes - recycling is in our DNA!!
Another fan of milly molly mandy books
I still have my original box set I’ve had since I was 7!! Can’t seem to part with them
Here’s mine if anyone wishes to take a peek…
I also have old tv shows on another board - childhood/teen section
Loving your board, so many of my memories on their. I haven’t made a memory board yet, what a lovely idea.
Loving the clackers, kerknackers, kerknockers or what ever we called them Ruth @ruthwalkergifts
Couldn’t help but notice Donny Yvonne @VonEliHandmade
Ha Ha! My crush at around the age of 9/10 I think Tina @DaisyWings … after David Cassidy
I always wished he’d come round to my house for tea! lol
ha ha… @HandMaidSW Just seen the hillman imp, believe my dad had a blue one when I was born and he also had a red fiesta!
Ours was white and it was handed down to mum (her first car) by dad when he got another. The fiesta mark 2 was my first car (mum and I bought it second hand and she got to drive it, occasionally!)
Using the telephone was, however, another matter! Only if I had permission and then not to talk for long! They didn’t want a large bill!!
Banana Toffos!
