Busy day here including a hospital visit as my growth hormone injection device has had to be changed so I’ve had to be retrained on how to use it.
Busy for the next 4 days but I’m sure I can still find time to visit this thread.

Thank you for your lovely welcoming messages here.
We enjoyed some carol singing outside our village hall this evening with some mulled wine and mince pies which helped us keep warm and festive.

I am making sausage rolls and chicken curry puffs first thing. Then prepping an afternoon tea for lunch with an episode of Strike, maybe a Cinzano to wash it all down.

Well, my microwave decided to start puffing out smoke last night! Of all the days in the year, the eve of Christmas eve. I was of course straight onto the John Lewis website and bought a new one to be delivered on Saturday to a waitrose close to me, but before then I have 3 days of various guests to cater for… It was the only thing in the kitchen that could have done with replacing when we did our kitchen 18 months ago but didn’t as it still worked, it’s not a cheap one, it’s a combination microwave, hey ho
We had 3 lots of guests yesterday and the house is filling with Christmas presents and cards, and my daughter returned for a holiday. I also made my nut roast, well two for the festive season and some lemon cheese but i couldn’t find my mum’s recipe and it ended up being one jar instead of almost 3!

Morning
Taking the cat to the vets this morning for a check over - she looks quite stiff just recently so wondering if she’s a bit arthritic. This afternoon we’ll do our usual Christmas Eve family walk and hot chocolate at the coast. The boys were always happy to go when they were small in the hope a dose of sea air would help them sleep on Christmas Eve. In between I’ll finish some wrapping and do some prep for tomorrow’s cooking.

I’ve just had my receipt through for my on line shopping and they’ve substituted my Twiglets for cheese and chive pretzels. That’s my Christmas Eve ruined

My Royal Mail parcel is back in Southampton having had a lovely day out in Winchester, will it ever come back to Wales again I wonder

I’ve a day of cooking and prepping ahead, ham cooked in cola, cheese Christmas trees and trifle to name just a few! It’s just the two of us tomorrow but a house full on Boxing Day.

What great timing Sue @SueTrevor. A few years ago our main oven went just before Christmas. Luckily my landlord got a new one installed 3 days before Christmas. I was panicking I can tell you!

My day is full of food prep and housework then when hubby come home from work we’re off out for some fast food of some sort with my brother. It’s kind of become a tradition. After all the prep, time it gets to dinner I’ve had enough of cooking for one day
