Daily Listing Challenge and Group Promotion Thread February 2025

Morning.
Well done on reaching your milestone Hilary @kokoblue
Can you add a sale for me please Alison @FluffStuffCrafts It’s so good to see so many sales over the weekend.
It’s our wedding anniversary today so off for a bit of lunch later which feels really indulgent on a Monday!
Still nothing to share although still loving all your items. I’m sure I should have bowed out for the month but I find myself popping in when having a cuppa.

Happy Anniversary Louise @thestitchyroom - enjoy your lunch x

I had a message from Folksy for a customer request to ship to France. I know we don’t have to do anything if we don’t want to ship to another country but now I’m questioning myself about whether I should. I feel guilty. I knew this would happen…lol! I even told James on the question section on the blog that it would make me feel like I’m letting a potential customer down. I chose not to ship to Europe for a reason but now it’s making me doubt myself.

My listing today is:

2 sales to report please Alison @FluffStuffCrafts

Is everyone leaving their perfectly imperfect items in their shops with the perfectly imperfect tags and descriptions? I can’t be bothered to go and edit it all!

Yes, I’ve decided to keep my “Perfectly Imperfect” tags, descriptions and title as they are for now. I’ve also placed them in a dedicated category.

There are numerous social media hashtags associated with this event that will remain visible on our timelines, potentially catching the eye of future customers. I’ll worry that altering these tags might make it difficult for customers to find them in the search bar.

I changed mine because I didn’t really like having on the title “perfectly imperfect” when there was nothing wrong with the item. I had in the description that it was due to “end of line”, but I think when there is no related event running where people can see what it is all about, the word “imperfect” can actually put people off. Didn’t bring me any sales at all, anyway, so minimising the risk of not getting sold :rofl:

Congratulations to all those with sales over the weekend and to those hitting fantastic milestones.

I wasn’t able to prepare as I would have liked so only had a handful of listings for the promotional weekend and I’ve been totally ignoring social media (on purpose and it’s such a time drain) so I only have my self to blame for not having any sales. On the plus side we’ve had a fab weekend celebrating DS’s 9th birthday - trampoline park party, cake, rugby, cake, pizza, cake, family games cake. My Auntie made a fantastic job of the cake, it’s too good not to share;

Sarah @dotterypottery I did look into hiring a ‘responsible person’ for NI sales, jewellery is more tricky into the EU with packaging laws which have both costs and paperwork attached for France, Germany and Greece I believe, as well as prohibited items you can’t ship copper to France for example! the cost was around 450 euro’s per year which was excessive for less than £100 worth of sales into NI so I haven’t shipped outside UK since December. Postage with any kind of insurance for jewellery is also very high more than £12 so I have turned that off too, I ship the occasion order to repeat customers but other than that it’s UK excl NI only now :frowning: .

Love the Minecraft cake Jen @JenStarKnits

I’ve taken the perfectly imperfect reference out of titles and descriptions, left the tag in and just popped them all in my sale section in case someone finds them there instead.
