Destashing my gemstone beads

They sound good then thanks. Will you be listing them in your shop? x

Here you are x

Lovely, thanks. Just a thought, if you have any of the obsidian beads ready for listing it might make sense to post together. x

Max Pring has asked for them first, but if she doesn’t want them then I’ll offer them to you. I’m hoping to photo her requests tomorrow.

Thank you so much Altaira, yes photos of chakra stones would be great. I’ve never used bloodstone before but certainly red jasper and carnelian if you have them.

Sounds a lot like my situation. It took me over ten years and Ā£85,000 to build up my gemstone strand collection in all types, cuts, sizes and grades ready for my retirement making and designing jewellery. Unfortunately, like you I have a nasty condition called degenerative cervical mylopathy which is very debilitating and it’s now left me house bound. I try to make something each day whilst I can but I will never use up my collection. At least I know there will be an interest in my stock when I have to give up completely. I have gemstone strands which have actually gained in value such as my graded strands of tanzanite. Some are over Ā£300.00 to replace within the trade, some are no longer available to buy in the same quality. Most Tanzanite now has a grey look with only a slight voilet/ blue colour which is over priced and miss sold as graded tanzanite by unscrupulous makers and retail jewellers!!! I once witnessed a jeweller telling a customer the lighter the blue with more grey the better it was compared to darker voilet/blue coloured tanzanite. I silently saw red, bit my tongue and walked out in total discust.

@DemelzaDesigns I never bought tanzanite as beads even though I do have a lovely pendant in the blue/purple. It’s frustrating when there are so many fake gemstones around now, it’s the same with moldavite, the price of the genuine pieces have shot through the roof, luckily I bought my pieces quite a few years ago and they are definitely genuine, their energy is so intense. You must have one huge collection, I thought mine was big enough but you’ve got different shaped stones too, which I don’t, I just stuck to the round beads mainly.

Sorry to hear about your condition, it is horrible when life throws a major curveball and does a 180, I could still make jewellery for a few years after I got diagnosed with ME, but now my hands and head don’t like working with the small components and I’ve lost my love of making the jewellery but at least other crafts have come into my life like knitting, crochet and decoupage and I really enjoy learning new things. Like you I’m mainly housebound and luckily having so many interests helps me get through each day. I finished knitting myself a lovely jumper yesterday and I’m crocheting a king size (yes king size) blanket for my son and his fiancee, why on earth I said I would do that is beyond me, never again, it’s huuuuge!!! Hopefully I will get it finished in the next few days that goodness.
