Does anyone know what 'feature led advertising pages' are?

I’ve been approached by a leading fashion mag regarding ‘feature led advertising pages’ in the January edition of the magazine. Obviously this is paid-for advertising, but what do they mean by ‘feature led’? Anyone out there conversant with magazine-speak?

Is it by any chance from “Red” Christine @ciesse ?

I think they mean that they will be doing a feature where they talk about something and the adverts will form part of the article.

I binned the email I got. They didn’t even have the decency to say where they had seen my work, let alone which particular items would “fit” the feature. I suspect that they have trawled Folksy and emailed lots of us.

I have never heard of the magazine and it’s way too expensive for me to advertise with them.

Yes, it was from Red magazine Shirley @WhimsyWooDesigns. They contacted me from my website, not Folksy. It’s a well-known magazine, been around for quite a few years now, I remember buying it a few times when it first came out and it’s still on the shelves every month - it’s a fashion/lifestyle mag aimed at women aged 20-40 I’d say.
They didn’t quote prices - did they on yours?

Yes they quoted prices to me Christine @ciesse

This is part of the email:

"We only have a maximum of 9 clients to a page for a luxury and neat aesthetic.
1 panel (measures 75 mm height X 60mm width)= £250+VAT (if applicable)
Price includes…
-An ‘as seen in Red badge for website and product purposes.
-An in-house production team to create bespoke art copy that will be proofed by you for approval.
-The opportunity to pass on editorial information for potential future partnerships with Red.
Space is very limited so please do let me know as soon as possible whether this would be of interest as we would love to have you on board.
I look forward to hearing from you. "

I must admit that there are so many mags out there these days I don’t really take any notice of them.
I usually get an email from Vogue each year but they tend to quote quite a lot more if memory serves me right.

She emailed me direct and I don’t have my own website so she must have picked up the email address from either on my Meet the Maker bit on here or possibly Etsy.

She also attached a pdf file showing a typical Feature Led Advert. If you are interested message me and I will forward it to you.

I’m not committing to any paid promotions for Christmas this year. I’m waiting to go into hospital for a knee replacement so may have to close for a couple of weeks or longer and it’s quite possible it will be in December.
