I’m pretty sure 2018 will be the year I finally pull down the shutters on my shop. I’ve already stopped making because my shop is still well-stocked but nothing’s selling.
My plus account will run to about this time next year then I suppose I’ll sell everything off cheap on eBay
I’ll have to find myself a hobby that doesn’t involve selling
Wishing you all success in your endeavors!
Your hats are lovely, but with Folksy you have to do a lot of promoting for your own shop. I looked on your Facebook page and I did find a couple of posts with Folksy links but most of the promoting on there seems to be for your Etsy shop. Your Shop button takes people to Etsy, and your other website link takes people to your own website so that is where most people are being ‘steered’ not Folksy. The one you are promoting the most is bound to get the most sales.
Thank you Kim, I guess i’m guilty of linking to Etsy each time on FB simply because my data show its been working… each day of hatvent so far has resulted in an average of 30 clicks into Etsy and 15 extra sales directly attributable to it…The folksy links have had no impact on shop stats whatsoever. Not one view has come from the links I’ve made. Not even when my gorgeous burnt orange one was featured in the gift guide… I was sooo excited but the results were about 5 clicks and no sales… I guess I’ve created my own competiton with myself. Can you run 2 shops with similar listings at the same time? or are you simply just spreading the views between them?..I shall spend some serious promoting time add some listings in the NY and see what happens…
Well since I now have a few new kitties that we decided to keep I will be adding new cat items. I have a few ideas in my head so will be buying the things that I need to make them and list a few in the New Year. I had a good selling year this year so can’t wait for 2018.
im trying to use up the craft supplies that I have (thought a crafter can never have too much) and focus on about 3 crafts rather than try a bit of this and then a bit of that. I feel like I need to be known for making just a few set items.
Hopefully in the future I will stick to card making, sewing and soldering.
Wow, I only actually fulfilled one of those things from the opening post - I did get a new wheel and that was it.
The rest of it are plans that I still intend to do in 2019.
I’ve already got the slip casting liquid clay to try out some more slipcasting, I need to buy some better lino cutting tools and I’ve got the materials ready to experiment with some more stoneware glaze recipes.
How did you get on with your dreams for this year? Did you get everything done that you wanted to?
No, not really…I’m in the same dilemma this year as I was last year!!
Maybe this year I will make a decision about where I’m heading with my shop
Gosh, is it really a year since I made that last post? Still in the same boat, going nowhere…
I’m hoping to fine-tune what I make and offer people, and to phase out the stuff that doesn’t work. I’d like to do a bit more press/marketing too.
Just edited the title so we can all say what we hope to achieve for the year 2019.
Mine is the same as last year as I only got one thing ticked off the list!
I am also thinking of taking Jan and maybe Feb out to make more of the things I haven’t had a chance to. We’ll have to see how that works out.
I’m on 176 sales here at the moment, so my initial aim is to get to 200.
My hope for this year was to get at least one online sale per week, but have fallen just short at 47 so far (38 here and 9 on the dark side). However, this is still a couple more than the year before, so I feel like I’m still making progress.
As a result, my aim this year to make at least 60 sales online and maybe be brave enough to do a craft fair or two.
