I’m still making my C-------- stock and wondered if any one else is doing the same. I need to carry on with it otherwise I won’t have enough stock for to take either to Craft Fairs or to sell on here and my own Website.
I do make summery items but they are not as popular as others.
I’m not making particularly seasonal stock , but am making stock for Xmas fairs - I work on it all year.
Pretty well given up making things specifically for Christmas. I have a bit of stock left over from last year but think I will just stick to giftware this Christmas that I can stock all year round.
I do love to make things for Xmas but have planty left from last year so I dont really need to make anything new.
In general I dont make for specific events like Valentines or Easter but as Im selling at a vintage fair at the end of the month Ive been making Mothers day cards which is mid March.
I’m doing preparation work for my Christmas lines as they are so popular, and I find it such a rush to leave it until later in the year.
I’m trying to turn over a new leaf this year. I’m determined to keep on top off everything. So far its working, entered everything on my tax spreadsheet this morning and continuing with Christmas stock. I’m making most of the quiet time in my shops etc.
Funny you should say that I got a order to knit a Christmas tree cosy and a Halloween Pumpkin cosy yesterday.
That’s great. Its true people do their present buying all year round.
This is what I’ve made today.
Picture quality isn’t very good due to been taken on my ipad.
I will if I get confirmation I have a stall at a Christmas fair I have applied for. Otherwise, I fear I couldn’t shift enough online to justify it, so will do what I did this year which was to make locally, to order, only.
It’s hard to second-guess the buying public - I’ve often sold Christmas specific items in January, and not even at reduced price. The best ever though was a Santa Key - you know, the magic key Santa uses to let himself in when you don’t have a chimney? It was bought towards the end of January with a note saying it was ever so urgent and please deliver ASAP.
