Lovely and bright!
I haven’t been spending much time of Folksy lately but finally remembered to visit today and listed this painting
great work folks and all very different which is good.
Today I am busy doing relists and just relisted this 9x12" box canvas acrylic
.
Its great to see so many beautiful artworks.
I’ve been doing a few plaques this week so no photo’s to show as yet. I started doing 2 small portrait canvases today, the subject matter is almost finished and I’m really unsure what colour background to do… mmmm decisions, decisions!!
When you guys start a painting do you know where it’s going or do you sometimes just wing it and decide or change things along the way?
As always, nice to see it all lovely and busy here <3
Jan, It isn’t often I plan a piece. With some pieces, I do a very rough thumbnail sketch in my sketchbook, but the initial drawing before I start painting it will then be very impulsive- there might just be one idea/theme I need to get in there. I’m quite bad for “i hate it- start again”, I never try and “fix” a piece, I’d much rather start from scratch. With some other pieces, I don’t even have a sketch in mind, or an image, I just start with a face and see where it takes me. Depends what the goal is.
My more fluid girls are my most impulsive. for example, today this girl turned into a deer.
lovely work everyone.
Jan I never have a clue…I take a piece of paper…throw some paint at it and go for it…sometimes what started out as a landscape turns into a bunch of flowers and vice versa…I never draw anything first either…
With aceos, I take 4 pieces of card, cover them with water and flick paint…as one dries, I flick paint at the next one… and on to the next and the next …then back to the first one.
I have no plans at all…ever…I once tried making a planned picture and it was a total disaster.
