The weather has been wild here today. I think it has the cats on edge too, because they kept climbing all over me while I was working - so helpful! I’ve made them a little hidey hole fort from cat trees and their fleecy blanket so they can hide from the weird noises

Morning all.
Wall to wall rain today. My shelves arrived yesterday, Belinda Evri courier was worried as the box was split and soaking wet. She took photos to send to me just in case. However they were fine as wrapped in plastic inside the box. Put them up, fit just next to the embroidery machine table will be tidying up today!

Good morning. We had another potential jumper on the bridge last night (we live next to a bridge over the motorway) that’s the 3rd in the past 2 months. Luckily none of them have jumped but I think it shows the level of mental health issues with the way the world is at the moment.
Today I have the last bunny blanket, for now, as I’m working on a custom order for the other side.

Good morning. Was wild and wet here in the SW yesterday too. My sister has borrowed my car for a couple of days so didn’t venture out at all. Managed to get a couple of scarves made though.

Thanks for asking after Olivia, Marion. No, she hasn’t caught up in size yet. She’s 5 months old now and only the size of some newborns. Most premature babies have caught up by the time they reach the age of 2, so it takes quite a long time.
Her eye problems are due to something called ROP - retinopathy of prematurity. Most of the development of blood vessels behind the retina of the eye happens fairly late during the gestation process, so Olivia was born before that happened. Because her lungs were also under-developed she often had low oxygen levels in her blood. That can cause the blood vessels behind the retina to over-develop in an attempt to harvest more oxygen, which can lead to a mass of large abnormal blood vessels behind the retina that can then result in detached retina and loss of sight. The injections that Olivia had into her eyes were an attempt to shrink the abnormal vessels. It has worked to an extent but not completely - which is why she may still need laser eye surgery to remove the rest. We are really hoping that doesn’t become necessary because the laser itself can cause scarring which affects peripheral vision. The larger the area that needs to be lasered, the narrower the resulting field of vision can be.
Sorry for the long explanation - it’s quite a complicated condition.

‘Morning all’ from a dull and gloomy Herefordshire! Now here’s an odd thing - I listed the little turquoise Welsh pony card yesterday on this thread and then sold the same card on ‘the other site’ it must have been a coincidence but it does seem rather strange, especially as it is the first time ever I’ve sold this colour variant card. Notwithstanding here’s todays item.
