Any idea how long admin takes to get back to you? Sent an email, as I’m having problems with the settings on my shop..no idea why .. as of yet no reply… after reading about the lack of interest that folksy has regarding many things on the forums, I’m beginning to think that maybe I’ve wasted my money with a plus account
I get the feeling that it’s a take your money and leave you to it site. Letting the sellers police the site etc, it’s disappointing to say the least ![]()
Did you at least receive an automated reply after sending? That would indicate that your email went to the right place. Always worth checking spam too.
Although things don’t feel great at the moment, I would say it was out of character for Support not to reply to an email. I have been here seven years and wouldn’t ordinarily describe Folksy as take your money and run.
I hope I don’t have to revise my own assessment of that, but Folksy does feel as though it is past its peak.
It is, really. They give you the facility to have a shop, and then leave it to you to try to make things work.
They usually reply within a day or two if you email, them.
Don’t get disheartened with it, I’m sure your shop will do well as long as you self promote, it’s so hard nowadays as there are so many people selling crafts online so you need to find your audience.,
There are issues that sellers are fed up with and it would be lovely if they could be ironed oùt, a lot of what is discussed on the forum leads back to the same few things but it’s still a lovely platform to be on and has a real community of sellers that can offer help and advice as well as discussing things that we feel need sorting.
At the moment there doesn’t seem to be a lot of input from admin on the topics we have raised and that can be frustrating but I still think admin do read the posts but only get involved when they think they need to and sometimes it might help if they did respond.
Going back to support though I have always found them to be pretty quick in replying and sorting any problems with my account, in that respect I have no issues whatsoever.
I would agree with Debby’s very balanced assessment. Yes, there are some frustrations at the moment but there are positives, not least the helpful and amicable community of sellers.
I don’t think anyone has ever pretended anything other than that you must do your own promotion here.
A while back when Folksy introduced a (not very good) new search, they did respond to calls to change it, so they can be receptive. Which does make it all the more frustrating when they aren’t!
Thank you everyone, just checked and I’ve had a reply so fingers crossed
I can get my problems sorted. One thing I will say is that I enjoy the community that folksy has created so much ![]()
Hi ![]()
As some of you know, after being a seller on here for the last 18 years, I joined the Folksy support team last year.
I can’t answer all of your questions on the forum (I really would love to but I’m not yet qualified to address many of the queries that come up on the forum outside of support) but I can tell you what happens when you send an email to support.
We aim to reply to all messages within 24hrs. We are trained in all aspects of support but occasionally there is a technical issue where we may need to liaise with Doug (The engineer) so that we can resolve the problem. If this is the case, we will let you know that we are looking into it and will get back to you as soon as possible. These emails don’t get closed and they remain an open ticket to make sure that we come back to it when we have the answer.
Through support, we also offer shop reviews, technical guidance on shop appearance issues (banners, photographs etc) and can point you in the right direction of any of our Folksy guides or Sellers’ Tips etc.
All of us on the support team also have shops on Folksy so we are passionate about making sure that we can resolve as many issues as we can, as quickly as we can.
If you think that you haven’t received a response from us, please check your spam folders.
If you have a support issue, please contact us directly support@folksy.co.uk because we won’t always see your queries on the forum in good time.
I can only speak for myself, but since joining the support team, I really hope that my 18 years of experience as a Folksy seller means I can bring a little extra compassion and understanding when something goes wrong, or when someone just needs a bit of advice
That is lovely to hear that you have joined the team Sarah. I only joined Folksy in May but I am more than happy so far, it is a fabulous platform and community.
, well again a thank you to everyone for their replies and thank you admin for sorting out the problems I was having with the site…once I’d sent screenshots to support, everything was sorted within the hour ![]()
Thank you Sarah @dotterypottery for what you do on Folksy, and indeed thank you to all the team. The only time I had to contact support I received a prompt, friendly and helpful reply.
Sometimes the difficulty is to know how to notify little matters. For example, today is the "favourite item’ theme of the day, and I see one shop has tagged 3 items. Hardly an urgent issue requiring me to bother Support on a weekend, but annoying to everyone who has followed the rules. And something that could be dealt with quickly and easily. How would Folksy want us to tell them so it can be dealt with asap?
Do Folksy check TOTD every day?
Thanks.
They don’t work weekends.
From about 3 on Friday I would think.
That’s why the really spammy shops open then .
Sorry I should have made it clear - Folksy support is manned 9-5pm Mon- Fri and we will aim to respond to queries within 24hours during a business day.
If there is an “Urgent” query over the weekend (such as a problem with the site) we will get a notification and at least one member of the team will deal with it.
For the tag query Liz @samazama - we would ask that you contact support@folksy.co.uk but this will not get addressed until Monday.
I do understand how disappointing this is for everyone that plays fair with the tags but in the first instance of a tag violation, we will send the seller a warning and then monitor for any further rule breaks.
Thanks Sarah @dotterypottery for your reply. That is helpful to know to use the contact support email even for “trivial” things as well as major issues affecting the site or one’s shop. The issue with TOTD today however will be over with by Monday, too late to rectify, so probably no point reporting?
I would still report it Liz and we can send a little note to the seller to be careful with the tags.
I will also make a note to the marketing team to maybe not use the 1 tag only prompts on a weekend so that we can respond more quickly.
Thank you. Will do.
Liz@Samazama, I never realised that on TOTD you could only show one item? Worth knowing and I see your point as I noticed today many items from shops showing mosaic that had more than one item. I must read things more slowly as I keep missing things in the rules… it’s my excitement I think? Then I quickly scan things obviously too quickly ![]()
Jill @artisanhatscraftsstudio .. TOTD picks up any relevant tags, …so if the tag of the day is butterfly, then EVERY item in your shop that has been tagged or has butterfly in the title , will be included.
However, on the day when it is “your favourite item”, you can only have one that is tagged with the relevant words.
So for the daily tags, it is possible to have a lot of items featured because your word has automatically been picked up…but on the Favourite item day, then people can only have ONE.
Jill - it is only the one which is “showcase your favourite item”, with the tag " tag one only…", which was Saturdays, where you can only tag one item.. There is one of these every month. For all the other themes there isnt a limit to how many items you can tag.
Aah, okay… makes things clearer
thank you for explaining ![]()
