Thank you thank you, I really appreciate your comment. I’m relieved that I’m getting somewhere at last
A food photographer that I spent a little bit of time with, used long thin strips of foil card, gold, silver or whatever reflection was needed, on bulldog clip legs, to reflect highlights into key areas, these were called Charlie strips. This worked really well to spotlight individual areas, gold would be good to add warmth on Christmas items I imagine, rather than flat white.
I also use a larger piece of card wrapped with kitchen foil. Cheap enough, but it works as good as any brought reflector.
One piece of advice I would give to a new photographer is, always look around the edge of your image first, to make sure there are no distracting items or background. Once you’ve got just the items you want in the viewfinder, you can then play with angles/focus.
Love the card by the way and that gorgeous quill pen
Pics look good too.
Thank you for some excellent tips and your very kind comment. It’s good to know I’m not barking up the totally wrong tree with my photos
I think we have all barked up the wrong tree before, especially when it comes to photography.
It’s like everything else, easy when you know how and have learnt what seems like a new language.
Beautiful!! I think they look fantastic on that background!! Well done!
Thank you so much it’s been a long journey but I think it was worth it
