Input on necklace please

So I made this the other day. Its a variety of semi precious stones. I cant decide whether or not to make it a slip over the head necklace or a necklace with a clasp so i thought i would ask you lovely lot for any thoughts as to what you would like to wear out of the two?

Love those colours!,

I think it looks lovely as a three strand, I think they’re quite on trend this year from what I’ve seen.

Oh are they  thanks thats a bonus, i know i should really pay attention to things like that but i really just make things i think look good or enjoy making (which is why a lot of my bits are dark earthy colours lol)

This is really nice, I agree with Sarah the colours are lovely. I think I’d go for an over the head version rather than a clasp but in either case it’s one very nice necklace

That’s lovely. I love the colours, Paul.
If you had it as a slip over the head necklace, would the thread be elasticated?

I’m far more likely to wear a slip over the head necklace than one I have to fiddle to fasten. Love the colours in this one however you wear it.

No the chain would be a metal link chain made to length in same tones as the top of necklace where the three strands join.

If its long enough to slip over the head then thats what I’d go for - far more user friendly!

I like the idea of the slipping over the head necklace as it would look more aesthetically pleasing to me. The only concern I would have would be head sizes, if they varied :grinning:

Yeah, my other slip on ones i have stated length in listing, but also offer free custom length of chains to suit the buyer. Actually as i offer guides to measuring wrist size for bracelets, i may also put a quick blurb to any potential buyers with concern about measuring length needed for over the head. Thanks!

Can I throw in a curved ball? I always mess up my hair with an over-the-head necklace and much prefer a clasp as I don’t seem to find them fiddly. Also, as a petite, anything that is long enough to go over most peoples’ heads will come down below the neckline on me so its not an ideal length for small girls.

As everyone else has said, these soft natural greens look wonderful!

Love Sam x

Thanks sam for input  , i generally state on listings that any length is available as custom order request. So i guess i could start offering length/clasp/over head options as custom for all newer listings where appropriate but state it will come as seen in picture if brought from this listing. It does get tricky though as i do think having to put in a custom order does put off potential buyers instead of having drop down options boxes where they can just click and order right away.

It’s a beautiful necklace Paul, I think either over-the-head or with a clasp would be fine.

Yes, I would say either way too, it’s a lovely necklace, I’m a fan of the earthy tones as well.

I prefer a clasp. I’m not keen on over-the-head necklaces.

Hi @PaulsJewels, although over the head styles are much more user friendly, especially for any customers with less agile fingers, I’d use a fastener and make it about 18/20" long. Unless you were planning to make it significantly longer so it’s a 32" sort of length? I still think that a shorter with fastener would be preferable though as the necklace may fall too stiffly on a long drop due to the closeness of the beads to each other and the fact that there are 3 strands.

I love the colours you’ve used and the beads are stunning - especially like the long square sided ones, I’ve not seen those before! Good luck :relaxed:

I Still have not finished this piece lol Got distracted by listing ceramic stuff. Its pretty split with votes for each, however i make it up for photos i will state heavily in listings that its changable to customer preference.

Ha ha! Very diplomatic
