Wondered what it meant. It has this sticker on the one I always use at our main Royal mail depot.
I was impressed with the speed with which Royal Mail refunded me for a missing second class parcel this week.
I put in a claim after 14 days and had a cheque within a week.
However, I also have a current claim for an international parcel sent at the beginning of June which still hasn’t been refunded, as Royal Mail aren’t considering an international item lost until NINETY days have past, despite what it says on their website.
They cited covid 19 and unprecidented delays as the reason why., but ninety days is excessive.
That’s shocking! I know I’m going to need to put in a claim for misplaced international mail, and cant believe they’re trying to pass off 90 days.
Royal Mail puts notices on its Click and Drop service that postage to whatever country is hugely delayed because of Covid. I send an email to overseas customers now warning them and quoting this message. That keeps them happy for a week or two and stops them worrying for a while. And the idea for asking to check their address is good also, I sent a small parcel to Germany that did not arrive. The customer had written the number of her house down wrongly. I sent a replacement and then the missing parcel arrived here some two months later ‘UNDELIVERED’. Some countries allow their people to trace a package even if it is not Tracked. I always send the imore expensive items by Tracked. You will be surprised how little extra they cost. And the printed labels from Royal Mail’s Click and Drop look more professional and perhaps less like a birthday present to a burglar.
I always acknowledge the order on the back of the Folksy email which has the customer’s address . So that gives them the chance to spot if they have entered it wrongly. Quite a few emails bounce because they have a misspelt email so every reason to expect someone to put their address wrong as well sometimes.
I have found Wales a bit hit and miss too as the mail gets held up at Chester sorting office.
