I always find that I have listings that don’t fall into a clear category, and today I came across “Letterbox” gifts in the homeware section. I’m not quite sure what the criteria is for this - presumably anything that fits through a letterbox and can be easily posted? To be fair, 90% of my items are small enough to meet this criteria. Would something like this be suitable or is the category intended for something else?

I think it’s meant to be anything that would fit through a letterbox once packaged up, yeah. I think most of my stuff fits into that category as well!

I take letterbox sized to men anything that fits through the letterbox, definitely.

It’s basically a large letter size. I have a plastic sizing guide I use to make sure mine fit. Pretty much all my makes are LL.
My understanding of a 'letterbox gift" is something sent to someone else as a purposeful gift, often as a surprise or when you think they may not be in to receive a larger parcel. They tend to have more than one item in them - but that could be a token item such as a greeting card, plus the main gift.
I sent a lot of these during the COVID pandemic.
It’s a good way to upsell your small items - add a little extra or two, and package nicely in a card box that fits the criteria for letterboxes.

Cosy gift set
I think of it being a gift that fits through the letterbox, and is usually sent directly to the recipient. You see the description from flower companies sometimes and have the advantage of being easy to deliver when someone’s not expecting a parcel. If it’s flowers they’re cut and packaged into a box and the recipient can get them out and arrange them themselves. Not sure if my tea towels would count, but they definitely fit through a letterbox
