Like Mel @aquilacrafts, I also think May is often quiet - both in terms of sales and time due to other commitments. In fact, the whole summer can be quiet for some of us, and while itās a good opportunity for reflection (or even plan to change direction), itās also a good time to come up with new ideas and start making stock for Xmas. Last year we had CraftFest to keep up our mojo and help drive sales - which certainly helped me. This year Iām using the down time to continue with my destash, and also refocus on what I sell through the Sews shop and what I shift to the Supplies shop.

Hello everyone.
Just to let you know that Iām still lurking in the background! Unfortunately everything has been thrown up in the air and we may have to postpone or cancel our trip. Our son in law was due to have quite complex surgery on Friday and we were going to be looking after the grandchildren over half term while he recovers and then head off for our hols. The surgeon cancelled the operation yesterday as he is on holiday next week and needs to be there for our SiLs post op care. As you can imagine everyone is very stressed as it was such short notice. They are saying that the op will take place in June but no date as yet. All a bit of a nightmare. So Iāll be lurking and liking but not listing!

Weāve had some ābadā news ourselves. After just 2 weeks Rover is coming back home to us. Despite all the support put in place by Guide Dogs, Rover didnāt settle with his new family. The final straw came when he swallowed a corn cob. Heās at the Vets now as heās had surgery to remove it. We may be able to pick him up tomorrow. My heart is so sore for Rover but we will continue to help him for as long as it takes.

I know, itās very unfair Brenda @teabreaks. My real bug bear is that they wait until now to tell them. Heās been waiting on the urgent list for this for a few months and when the date came through my SiL and daughter have mentally prepared themselves and had to tell the children and now itās cancelled. I hope the surgeon has a lovely timeā¦..

All loved to here, but nothing new to show. I need to replace some of the many things sold at the fairs, since we have quite a few more in the offing. On the other hand, I need to reduce my stock a good bit. Hmm..

Thank you Brenda. We wonāt keep him as we want to keep fostering. When things go smoothly, we take the dogs to the training centre which gives us some time during the day for other things. However, Rover will have a home with us for as long as he needs itā¦..

What a nightmare for your daughter and son in law Hilary @kokoblue , I bet the surgeon was being a typical man and had not listened when his wife told him she had booked a holiday and had to do some hasty re-arranging!! (Sorry to any of you chaps following the thread, but I bet you are all different

Hello - back from my trip to London and just caught up with all the loving! Had a lovely weekend starting at 5:30am on Saturday to drive up to London (trying to beat the traffic!! Was taken out to dinner Sat evening by my daughter and her boyfriend which was a nice treat. Sunday my sister ran the Hackney half so went to cheer her on and met up with my niece and her husband and baby. Then spent the afternoon celebrating my sisters success!! Yesterday was a day spent shopping and spending lots before returning home this morning (again leaving at 5:30am). My daughter decided to return with me and is staying till Thursday evening although she will be working during the day.
Today I finally ordered my new bathroom although work wonāt start till September. I also ordered the wall tiles which were on offer at less than half price at B & Q but unfortunately none of the local stores had enough stock (probably due to offer) and they wonāt deliver so I am going to have to drive to Bristol tomorrow to pick them up (probably a 3 hour round trip - aargh)
My sister has also given me a new project to work on - she wants some seat covers for her sofa so will have to get on with that soon too!!
Anyway - I am back now and have put my shop back online. Unfortunately, after apparently having fixed the bug that was making redirecting people to the wrong shop in the shop search, the problem appears to have made a comeback so my shop is invisible again. Hope I donāt have to wait another month for it to get fixed.
Meanwhile, here is a new listing for today
Must get on and do the gallery accounts now - I have been a bit lax and have several months to catch up on!!
