May Blossoms Daily Listing Challenge Thread. 1st to 31st May 2015

Good afternoon to the May Blossoms and to all those taking part! Here’s to a month flowering with sales for us all!
I am starting this now ready for tomorrow morning. I’m not sure of last month’s collective total.

Please don’t forget to view each others items in situ in their shops, to ensure we have good viewing figures for our items and most importantly, let us know when you have a Folksy sale, so we can celebrate with you.

Please remember to post a link of your item in the thread, or clickable picture if you prefer. If we have a direct link, it makes it easier for us to look at your items.

I will endeavour to keep a tally of the months sales. Please let me know if I miss any.

Sorry! Only folksy sales can be added to the tally but happy to hear about and celebrate outside successes with you.

Good morning Blossoms. Thanks Donna @ShropshireNaturalProducts for stepping in and hope you enjoy the break from it all Natalie @NOfkantsCurios and that you’re feeling yourself again soon.

Well I made it - one year ago today I joined the daily listers challenge - to list something new every day and today I can celebrate achieving a whole year of new listings. Well to be fair a lot of the early listings were things that were already in my shop but I think I have shared something different on the thread every day, with occasional repeats when I have remade items that have sold.

Prior to joining the thread I had had my shop open for 16 months and in that time I had had 31 sales (average 2 sales per month). Over the last year I have had 132 sales (average 11 sales per month) and my average income per sale has doubled. Mind you the sales fairy seems to have fallen asleep just lately!

So folks - keep at it, promotion does help. I’m still a long way from being able to give up the day job or even booking the cruise I’ve promised myself, but crafting is even more enjoyable when it pays for itself and makes a little extra on the side.

Sadly, this month sees some major changes in my personal circumstances as my husband is becoming my ex and is moving out of the family home. Not entirely unexpected or unwelcome but it will mean less money to go around so I need to concentrate on trying to build up my primary business (chiropody) a little more so will have less time for crafting but I don’t suppose I’ll keep away for long and it will be a while before new customers start trickling in. I have quite a few items still in draft and I will continue to visit the thread and promote others and post as and when I can. I feel I’ve made some real friends here.

Sorry if I hogged the thread for a bit! Heres my listing for today - onwards and upwards :smile:

No listing to share today, I’ve got a craft market tomorrow so my shop is in holiday mode for the weekend, fingers crossed the bank holiday puts people in a spending mood :slight_smile:

@Rozcraftz, I feel your pain. I hope that things will settle for you as soon as they can and that the transition isn’t too harrowing. Take care and well done for listing for a full year.

I don’t know if I can keep up this month - things are getting very difficult. I was lucky enough to get LOADS of orders last month because of me closing down, so many that I even considered going into holiday mode for a few days to catch up with eveyhing, but I held out and now have 7 sales to report for May. Please can you add them to the tally, Donna? @ShropshireNaturalProducts . Thanks

Just finished the wedding stationery order…phew!
And I was hoping to have new for the start of the month but …no!

Oh I just love being part of a thread called Blossoms - makes me feel all Australian :smile: Clicked on all your lovely new listings.

Roz, hard to believe it just now but you will move forward with strength and meaning in your life once you get through the practicalities and emotional ups and downs. Always here if you want to chat.

I’m going to try and be around more this month with listings but it’s been very quiet in April and it makes it just so hard to get motivated to come here and list new things.
