Good morning Ma Queens!
Have a busy day today! Working two differing surgeries am and pm, means double the clear up at the end of the day! Sigh!
Good news and bad news though, the boss and the practice manager have said that only authorised overtime can be paid, having to work into lunch time, or past the end of the day, due to a late patient is not authorised, but can be taken off as time in lieu, once agreed! But they have noted that I come in at 8.30am, get paid from 8.45am, but you can’t get the surgery set up, plus up the decontamination room and x-Ray room in readiness for a 9.00am pt in 15 mins, so have agreed to now pay me from 8.30’ only been doing this since June 2013! Lol! But at least it will now be paid and maybe I can get to finish early some days too!!!

Natalie my husbands job is like that, only ‘official’ overtime is paid whereas they used to pay any extra work time. Overtime is also paid at flat rate and not time and half like it should be including Sundays and Bank Holidays!

@MidnightStarDesigns, Colleen I used to look forward to that hug when you get home from work, it’s reserved just for mummies and daddies, still makes me smile when I think of my two as little uns like yours. Of course I still get a hug now and again but now they are both much taller than me lol!
We don’t get paid any overtime at all in our team, only in exceptional circumstances and they only brought in a flexi time policy this year, so for years when workloads were really high and I had to go in early or leave late never got paid, love it now though they have flexi means I can slope off early when I fancy or take an extra long lunch

Jacqueline - Glandular fever is not fun and can take a while to recover from. Lots of rest required, not easy with a little one but try your hardest.
@MidnightStarDesigns, I still remember the first day I took my baby to nursery. She is now 17 and I still worry that she missed me on that first day! She probably had loads of fun and obviously didn’t suffer for it! It wasnt any easier for the second one either.

Any overtime paid is at a flat rate, but I don’t mind if I have the time or the payment as long as I get one or the other! My previous job was the salary and anything you did over and above was on your own head, and of course there was a lot of additional hours that were worked! So am pleased to have a job where your hours are recognised, one way or another and I do enjoy working within a team again, previously I was a lone worker as an education consultant.

Morning everyone - A very Happy Birthday Card from me this morning with lovely colourful balloons.

Jacqueline - hope you will soon be feeling better - no wonder you felt poorly.
Switched on this morning expecting problem with my internet connection - we have changed over to one of BT’s new connections which we were told is much faster. I have got my computer up and running OK - and it is faster - but Hubby is struggling to get a connection - he is not a happy bunny. Dreading the trauma we will go through at the beginning of June - we are having a new kitchen fitted - much needed. Looking forward to the new kitchen but dreading the upheaval we shall no doubt have. Have pinned, tweeted and loved - will be back later - Maureen
