May Queens Daily Listing Challenge Club! 26th to 31st of May!

My listing for today

Will pop back later to pin etc, read this and the other? thread…

Lin

Thanks for the lovely comments on my portraits today. I’ve just finished one of a bunny that is really cute, might add it to the listings photos once it has been received by its new owner.

Feeling a bit responsible for all that has kicked off on the “other” thread as I think it was comments on the appearance of my felted soaps and my response that seemed to start this discussion. Perhaps next time I shouldn’t be so sensitive and should just ignore any such comments!

Oh well tomorrows another day!

Please don’t worry, Roz. I think things have have gone wildly away from that. Sadly, I think the actual reason for the thread has been forgotten. Lets hope it is resolved soon. I won’t comment on that thread any more as I have had enough of all the negativity. It is a pity that some people just have to have a dig at others. You have every right to defend yourself. Those comments were not constructive about your lovely soap. They sounded, well, a bit jealous if you ask me. Am I allowed to say that?

On a lighter, more supportive note, thank you all for the cake good wishes. I hope to make some progress with them tonight. No more shall be said until they are done and the finished article has been completed.

All clicked to here - gorgeous items everyone.

Wonderful news about your Dad Jeanie. He must be so happy to be home now. His friends there sound so lovely.

Pets, well I used to keep budgies. My favourite was Scoobie (after my favourite cartoon when I was three) He died at the age of 15! Not bad for a budgie. I have also had a Peggy. She was a rescue budgie that had had both her legs broken in a gang led ‘mating’ session in an aviary. Her legs had healed, with a bend at a 90 degree angle, so she couldn’t perch on normal sticks. I made her platforms to rest on and she did really well.

Roz @Rozcraft - dont have any guilt feelings - the other thread should not have picked out another seller to make comments about - I would have felt very upset.

Liz@The Little Bead Box - wow - that it some name to live up to and takes some beating for originality.

Carol @Knittingtopia - you must feel releived at your hubby getting his job back. Nice cardi pattern - I am tempted to knit it but cannot make up my mind which wool to have.

Have pinned tweeted and loved - be back later - Maureen

Well done on making Cake progress Jacqueline! You are a star!

Roz, I said it before and I say it again, not your fault, and I feel, even thought there are many denying negativity, that Jacqueline, Shirley, Liz and many others are right, negative comments were made and ‘sour grapes’ comes to mind. Also feel some have a very unusual view of what we do here in daily listing challenges, promotion and support are at the forefront, there is no tit for tat, we do what we can to support and promote each other outside of the folksy forum, so how can we be seen as ingenuous. When I see and hear comments like that from both folksy staff and other folksians, who I have bought from and promoted in the past myself, I do wonder if I should bother, or whether to double my efforts!

Pet names! Hubby and I had two rescue cats, they were brother and sister, Casper, she, yes she was so named as when a kitten she had very pale markings, with dark round smudges around her eyes, reminiscent of Casper the Ghost and her brother, who was black with white socks, he was called Neil! LOL, his full name was actually Blackie O’Neil from the Barbara Taylor Bradford novel, a Woman of Substance, but that’s a bit of a mouthful to call when you wanted him to come in, so he was always known as Neil!

Late back checking in but just going to get up to date with hearting and pinning. Roz, don’t read that thread, when it was mentioned the other day I purposely didn’t even read it - too much negative energy, no good for creating, prefer my own little la la land

Edit to add, (you posted same time as me Natalie) - I’m so pleased you do bother and please carry on, you’re muchly appreciated xxx

Ps How many years has the Daily Listers been going?..quite a few and we’re doing the same now as we’ve done for years so we’re the constant here, if things change around us not our fault.

Di, I joined the daily listing thread in May of 2011, so it has been going for at least that long. (I remember that as it was just before my husband walked out on us, so that’s why I can place it).

It started in the year that I joined Folksy, it was one of the first things I joined in on in Folksy and I have not looked back since!

Hugs Liz! I remember your posts at the time!
We’ve all seen lots of troubled times, wonderful and momentous times, periods of strife and pain and we’ve been a listening ear for each of us during out trails and success!

So sorry to hear that you are leaving us Julie!

I think it is a similar story for many of us! I used to guarantee to sell around 10 items a month, now I am lucky to make one or two sales, and found myself lucky to do so, and that is with daily listing and support from the daily listing thread.

I wish you every luck in your sale and hope that you keep in touch!

Haven’t read or commented on any other threads but have put my feelings in writing to Support. Very disappointed in Folksy Admin to be honest,

Yes highs and lows, I well remember your hard time Liz, and we’ve seen a few baba;s born…two to Jacqueline, or is it 3?!

Yes, Di, you in particular were very personally supportive. At the time when you’re going through a rough patch you feel that it will never end, but it did and now three years on me and the kids are very happy and settled. And to cap it all, I met a lovely, lovely man on an Internet dating site and we have been blissfully happy for the last 17 months - Oh to be middle aged and in love again, it’s wonderful.

I have found that this daily listing thread has offered me an ear when things were tough and has freely given me strength and support and I am so glad I came back to it in January. Some of the people are the same, but I’ve also made some lovely new friends and I’ve seen some fabulous items (and bought quite a few of them!) and I even commissioned a piece of artwork for my daughter’s 18th from Edwina. I couldn’t think of a better place to hang out at all.

Right, now it’s time for bed for me. I’m training in Chesterfield tomorrow on dementia care, so it should be quite interesting, I’ll pop in when I get back.

Good night.

Good luck with your appointments, Dawn. Try not to be too worried about them - I know that’s a daft thing to say, but I’m sure we will all wish you well.

Right, now I really AM going to bed.

So sorry to hear you are leaving. I know times are hard at the moment. My sales on here and elsewhere are just starting to pick up again after having no sales for the first 3 months of this year. Good luck with whatever you decide to do in the future.

Lin

Up to date with pinning and tweeting and loving - hope the cardio appointments go well tomorrow Dawn - night night everyone - Maureen

Thanks to everyone for the kind words about my Dad. My sister rang earlier to say that he was settled in eating fish and chips out of the paper and listening to his music on his I-Pod!!!

Good night all,

Jeanie x

Sounds like he really is on the mend! Fish and chips out of paper! Can’t get better than that!

Natalie x

I remember that too, Liz. It is so lovely to have you here and happy! I think I joined about the same time as Natalie and have taken part in most of the monthly threads since - a couple of breaks for babies - two I think during my Folksy lifetime, but four babies now in total (thanks for remembering Di x)

Your efforts are fantastic Natalie and I know the support from you all has gotten most of us through many of life’s troubles, small and huge as the case may be. We are here for one another and that is what friendship is about. Isn’t it?

Dawn, I will be thinking of you at your appointment. I hope everything goes well for you xx

Jax @silverspiral I love the fact that you had to have a nap during the thread! Just shows how busy we are as a group that we have so many listings and postings to read and look at. You have made me smile

Thanks Steph again for the cake support. Fingers crossed things go well tomorrow and I get to the point where I can post pics on here. Argh!

Jeanie @thecardjeanie So pleased for your Dad - Fish and chips… I could eat that now, especially out of the paper. Yum!

Well, I think I will have a quick browse at some of the threads, perhaps list some new de-stash, then bed. Got a busy day tomorrow. Night night lovely people.

PS All caught up to here
