That all sounds very disappointing and disheartening. I hope you can find some way through it all
I could, but I won’t send them out this time without checking if they’ll be appreciated first lol. With my previous books, I sent some copies to places where I thought they might be appreciated, and didn’t even get a thank you, which, when it’s so easy to email a message now, was rather sad.
I’ve researched thoroughly, and would never go with vanity publishing.
I’m avoiding Amazon, because for the age range I’m writing for, the vast majority of children still read actual books. Plus, independent booksellers don’t like stocking indie authors who sell on Amazon, and I’d like to get into some book shops.
No publishers like unsolicited manuscripts, and agents are vastly oversubscribed at the moment. Plus I like to keep creative control, and not have to write to a given forumla.
Thank you It just takes a lot of patience and perseverance lol!
I’ve had my printed proof, yay! I’ve edited the cover (I can never see a cover well on screen, I need to have a print of it in my hand), and the book is now being printed
Exciting - really hope it works out - it looks and sounds a lovely book
