Need recommendations of craft fair venues in the North West

I’d like to have some stalls at fairs. Can anyone recommend any venues or organisations to apply to? I’ve tried a few and the worst called itself craft but out of 50+ stalls the vast majority were imported tat/vintage/bric-à-brac so most people were not prepared to buy/pay for proper handmade jewellery. I covered my stall but little else.

Is it worth joining any websites, with fees, to then be able to apply for stalls? I was hoping that someone on here might be able to help. I’m based east of Manchester but am happy to drive a couple of hours/overnight to a decent venue.

Thanks.

We live in Manchester and unfortunately the majority of the ‘craft’ stalls look like they’ve come out of the argos catalogue which is really annoying! Some of the council markets are good to get on and, there are also the makers markets too. A little on the pricey side but they advertise a lot! Have you looked online at stall and craft collective?

Hi there , I live in the lakes , we have north lakes craft fairs which are good but the stall prices are not cheap.
They have other good stall holders all with hand made goods.
Also there South lakes which is helps raise money for charities , and they usually have good hand made goods for sale with a wide choice .

Sign up to the open culture newsletter http://culture.org.uk/ - or follow them on facebook. They run the fairs in St Georges Hall in Liverpool which are excellent, and publicise others around the region too. Personally I won’t do a fair unless it is juried/selected - they tend to be more expensive but the others are often a waste of time and money.

There’s an event at Lancaster this weekend so you can check if they are what you are looking for.

Thanks for these everyone, I’d not found any of these before.
