I’m going to have a go at English Paper piecing as a way of using up scraps of fabric, and to relax with some hand sewing. I have bought some dies for my Big Shot machine and I made a start today…
What sort of final pattern are you planning on having?
Good Luck! It is lots of fun and a great way to relax
Cheers Lou
Oh what a lovely idea. I remember doing some of that as a small project at junior school. It was one of the things that probably contributed to my growing love of sewing and textiles. Looking forward to seeing what you create.
Oooo lovely - I’m a patchworker/quilter too. I do most of it on my machine but have EPP projects on the go too. Look forward to seeing this grow
@SashaGarrett No plan as such. I shall just keep making the hexagons and then place them together like a jigsaw before sewing together to see how they look. I’m hoping to make a small quilt just to have as a throw on the sofa…
That will be very therapeutic. I have two huge hex quilts and one is totally random from lots of scraps and it is my favourite. My mother calls is a memory quilt because she can identify so many of the fabrics from all sorts of clothes, curtains etc. You will love it!

I love EPP and have started making hexies, they are small and when I have enough I will make them into a cushion cover. Look at youtube for inspiration. My friend made a double bed quilt with tiny hexagons, all hand sewn. It is a very good way of using up small pieces of fabric, which I love because I can’t throw away my tiny bits of fabric. You can make pencil cases, makeup bags, pin cushions to name a few.
