May I ask all of you who print cards from your own art, what printer do you use please?
I started by having some cards printed professionally but the price was just to high, so looked into a printer that would take 300gsm card stock as I wanted to use quality card.
Bought myself a Canon Pixma TS9550 which was ok but I found I had to adjust the colour on my image as it printed a bit paler than the original, over the last few months it’s been printing with faint black lines running through the print, which obviously is no good to try and sell and I’m getting really frustrated with it, so now am considering a new one, but what to buy, there is a mind boggling array out there?
Can’t help with a suitable printer but have you run all the printer cleaner options? Black lines through the print sounds like you’ve got dirt/toner on a roller somewhere.

Thank you for your reply and Yes, done every clean option available at least three times, still no better, Mr has just taken out the print head and cleaned it so will see if that makes a difference. I’m not hopeful.

Whilst he’s in there get him to clean the paper rollers. Fingers crossed either that works or someone has a printer suggestion.

Once you specify printers that will take 300gsm, it normally cuts down the choice a lot! When I was looking I couldn’t really find anything other than the Canon Pixma range (at least that wasn’t really expensive).

I’m not loving the Canon pixma actually, I don’t like the colour representation but if I can get rid of these lines it’ll do.
The one I really want is around £1500 and I can’t justify that sort of money.

oddly it’s fine if I print the image on ordinary printer paper, only does it when I use card stock……

Do paper and card get picked up from the same place? My previous printer had a draw for paper but if I wanted to print on card I had to feed it in from the back. I’m just wondering if there is another set of feed rollers somewhere that haven’t been cleaned yet.

Thank you for your reply, no it’s just out of warranty.
I have considered the eco tanks so that may be the way forward.
