Puppies and the reason why…

No one has mentioned it yet but I have been told to get a rescue not line a breeders pockets.

Just in case thought would give you some history of our last and future golden.

Sally and her husband have had 2 litters from their own dogs, the first in 2011 and now 2026. Yrs they are registered with the kennel club. The reason for the litters is they have a trust setup for their son and other young adults with severe autism. Years ago the got Surrey County Council to purchase land in Alford, they then through sponsorships with marathons around Europe and the first litter of puppies managed to raise the funds to build homes for 10 autistic adults, also on site are qualified carers etc to ensure they are okay. Her last marathon in Italy raised enough for a sensory room. The next litter is raising funds again for the premises.

Both Lee and I consider Linden Farm a worth while cause and gives us a beautiful Golden at the same time. Sally works daily on the trust to increase awareness and funds.

If you google Linden farms more info online along with her interview in 2023 on the BbC with her son.

Hoping this stops the criticism p.

I haven’t seen any criticism, but I have not been around much lately, but Caroline you shouldn’t need to explain yourself to anyone about anything that you or your family do, it’s no one else’s business but yours. It’s completely up to you how, when and where you get your puppy and as long as it makes you happy, sod everyone else. Their opinions are their problems, not yours to worry about. Yes I agree getting rescue animals is a wonderful thing to do, most of my cats have been rescues in one way or another, but it’s ok to have a animal from a breeder too, if that’s what you want, you have your reasons and as long as you’re happy in your heart with your decision then go for it.

My son is hoping to breed from his doggy this year, she’s a cocker sprocker spaniel and is so gorgeous and doesn’t understand the word stop LOL! Sprockers are hard to find down here and they make good farm and family dogs.

I love your puppy photos, they are soooo cute!!! I bet you must be so excited for your new addition to your family. Can’t wait to see them grow up and start being fluff balls of mischief and mayhem x

Thank you. The comments were not on here but wanted to explain why we went down this route.

I’m sorry there has been uninvited advice, Caroline. It’s nobody’s business what you choose to do. You have dealt with a responsible breeder which makes so much sense. I for one, cannot wait to see your little guy. Biggest hugs. XXX

I have a samoyed. I had a samoyed before him. And I’ll get another one. Nothing against rescue dogs, I might even consider getting a rescue samoyed, but if I want a puppy then I’m afraid it’s another samoyed for me. Even a pedigree dog has a right to a good loving home.

Also, I regularly give to both Niall Harbison and Little Steps Matter…charities run by amazing people who never make a penny out of the work they do for disabled and rescue dogs and cats.

Oh Caroline, it makes me so sad that you’ve had to deal with this negativity. As others have said it’s nobody else’s business but yours and Lees. It sounds like the breeders are amazing and are doing some incredible work as well as bringing joy to people with gorgeous puppies. Koko was from a breeder of sorts as she was the result of a mistaken union between a Newfoundland and Alaskan Malamute! An adorable mistake though:joy:.

I’m not surprised you were upset. Anyone would be. I’m relieved the comments weren’t on here. XXX

Thank you all for your lovely words, we were just so excited and then to get that was a dampener.
