Has anyone else got a robot vacuum cleaner. I was thinking of getting one but I don’t know anyone who’s got one to ask their opinion. Are they difficult to set up and use?
Mine’s called Bob
Super efficient. Costs nothing and empiies itself into the dustbin too when it gets full. Does get a bit cross if it is asked to pick up bits of wire and chain but otherwise comes highly recommended ![]()
Ha ha - I do have a similar one called Dave but I was thinking of trading him in for a newer model. ![]()

My son has one, have to say I was a bit sceptical at first but am now thinking of getting one too
it’s really good! I think his is an Eufy Robovac
Thank you x
My disabled daughter has a Eufy, and finds it very good.
I have had a Eufy for about a year. It’s not like doing a thorough clean with a normal vacuum, but it is great for just keeping on top of grot. It will mop too, but I’ve never tried that.
Mines called Rob! He’s very good at finding those lost 2mm sterling silver beads which pink everywhere off my work board!
Yes, we’ve had one for about 18 months or so - really like it. We use it in the kitchen-diner mostly, so it’s running over ceramic floor tiles. Picks up really well, gets right into the corners. It only has a small dust collection space, so it needs emptying fairly often (although I guess that depends on whether you’re using it on carpet and how fluffy the floors are!). Ours is also a mop, so you can switch over the tank so that it has water in it and it has a mop head you attach. Doesn’t do a deep mop, but its great for quick clean ups in between. Takes a little while to charge fully - can’t remember exactly, but roughly 3 hours I think? When I do run it over carpet it tends to leave crazy trails round the carpet as it goes around in circles. Cat isn’t remotely frightened of it, and it’s very gentle so if it bumps into something it turns around and heads in the other direction. Obviously doesn’t do stairs, and I wouldn’t want to use it up on the landing in case it falls but I have a feeling in the back of my head that you can buy them with a sensor so some can do this. Sadly stairs will always be manual though! I like to set ours off in the evening after we’ve finished in the kitchen and just let it run around (remember to close the door or it trundles into the hallway!). I’d love it if it had enough charge to do a hoover then a mop, but it’s really only enough to do one or the other really. It does sometimes get trapped around the chair legs, but if usually finds its way out!
Thanks everyone - I have now purchased one and I tried it this morning. It’s amazing! It cleaned really well. Very pleased with it.
