although I do fairly well on folksy and am not complaining…I do wonder sometimes why things can be slow for some of us. SO…I went to do a search…I typed in Paintings and it was 8 pages before I came across one of my paintings…(despite having been here for 10 years and listing EVERY day for the last 4 years!) (always put Paintings in my tags)
So I tried ART…hmmm…I got to page 20 and gave up looking for one of mine…yet the pages were full of jewellery and other items…yes they are artistic but not sure about them being ART) And art is in my shop name AND tags.
I faired better when searching for aceos…and was on page 2…
Sometimes I think folksy should rotate the listings on pages, so that everyone gets a fair chance of being seen and found…sigh…Perhaps they do…I am not sure…
I love Folksy, it is a lovely place to be, however,
As I said, I do get sales and am quite happy with Folksy but sometimes…
Hi Brenda.
It doesn’t suprise me that searching for ‘art’ or ‘painting’ finds so many items. All it can do is look tfor the word ‘art’ or ‘painting’ in the titles and descriptions and it’s going to find loads. Just like searching for ‘jewellery’.
I think it’s unlikely people would use so general a search. If I did a search and got so many pages returned, I would straight away think of a more detailed phrase to search for - and use the categories on the left of the page to refine the results - to ‘art’ for instance.
How do you do if you try ‘miniature paintings’, ‘small paintings’ etc?
Off to have a look Helen…oooh…that is interesting…I have SEVEN on the first page…lol…
There you are, then! No wonder you sell so well, your buyers know what they want and what to search for!
It was an interesting experiment…My heart goes out to those who sell jewellery !!
I usually find my things, like ankle bracelet, I’m on page one, or is it like E, and your device remembers? I was foolish to think once one of my bracelets was the category photo🙄 on E…
