Enjoying it so far. Yes the section around the arm does pull off, leaving a narrow free arm.
I can now embroider my name, my husband’s name, little daisies, stars and a whirly line! LOL
I have managed to persuade it to use a nice satin stitch to sew on my velcro fastening and yes it does sound nice.
Kindle covers today - tomorrow - who knows?!! 
Must go and talk to OH now. He is feeling left out and I can hear him grumping downstairs.
