I was extremely surprised to find the survey, having completed as best i could, all the questions, is not anonymous and I had to enter my email address in order to submit it.
I was surprised too that I had to add email address in order to submit, so, as you say was not anonymous .
And I agree with Sarah @PhotoFairytales that the design of the questions meant you ended up clicking on something you really werenât bothered by if it was paired with something else you werenât bothered by!
There is a âskipâ button that you can click on without adding email
Didnt spot that !! Too late now .
same here. I did try to not enter it but failed. They will know it is me anyway as I listed my other shops.
Donât understand why they have include NOTHS in the list of other platforms. I donât think I know of anyone who has a shop on there ? Why did they choose that as a competitor ?
For some reason I wasnât able to submit it with or without my email address! Iâll try again today.
@TheHermitsBothy Iâd try on a different device or browser in case itâs something in your settings/ system set up that is causing the issue.
I sometimes take surveys and the this or that question (repeated in different combinations) is a very common tool for guaging interest in something.
I agree though, itâs a bit annoying!
I was surprised that there wasnât a question to gauge the interest in having a curated application process for sellers wanting to sell on Folksy rather than a free for all, as that has been an issue that has been discussed many times on this forum.
What did everyone make of the âunbranded pageâ question?
Do they mean that customers would see it as your own shop rather than you metaphorically renting a shelf in the Folksy shop?
I like the Folksy branding on the page (Itâs only one small logo) but it shows people thereâs a bigger organisation behind this shop and provides a sense of security to potential buyers.
Think they are just looking at what Etsy offers.
No interest in that at all but the alternative offered was even less desirable whatever it was
What we all want is Curation but that was not mentioned anywhere . The elephant in the room
I never thought to add that in the extra info but I also would like to see shops being vetted before setting up.
I did the survey, just to see what Folksy had in mind for the future and ended up thinking it was solely aimed at new sellers and hobbyists. Auction my items? Have someone vet my shop? Workshops? I think Iâm a bit further along than all that after 13 years of selling online. Nothing much for the established seller, unfortunately.
I just hope it doesnât end up giving a false impression . I prefer Folksy to the other one because it is UK based, friendly, simple and straightforward and doesnât keep adding new gimmicks. But I dont think that would have come across in my survey answers, whereby I was admitting to using another outlet and having to vote for prefering one possible new feature over another when actually I dont want either (thats exactly why I prefer Folksy !) !!!
I thought most of the survey was ok and a gooÄ idea as it does show Folksy our preferences which they will probably use going forward . I only got a little unsure when it came to the choice between 2 answers as none were really important to me but i think the ones asking about videos on listings are important to a lot of sellers who have been requesting them, I suppose this way it gives Folksy an idea of which area to concentrate on when deciding what would be a helpful addition to sellers.
I did add comments in the box at the end of which one was to be able to bulk edit tags on listings so thought it a good idea to add as a suggestion. I have to admit I didnât know which to pick on some of the 2 answer questions but definately wouldnât want an auction now button or anything else that will change Folksy too much.
Absolutely with you there.
Totally agree, this is not ebay and this if implemented would make me look elsewhere to sell.
I thought the questioning method was clever- it will help folksy pinpoint a new feature to work on once all of the surveys are in.
In the extra box I said that I thought an auction would de-value handmade work. It would feel like eb-y rather than Sothebyâs
Yes i completely agree Bekki, I think i may have commented on that as well but to be honest I canât quite remember everything i put in the additional info box
Yes I like it branded with the Folksy logo as well
