I think the daily posts from Folksy are great and it must be so hard to come up with meaningful content every day, not to mention how time consuming it is. I wish Folksy sellers would get behind them more, some days you must feel like you are sewing seeds on stony ground.
I totally agree! I wrack my brains trying to show video content or add moving images to my reels that I havenât used before and it gets harder every day! Meaningful content that gets high engagement is that holy grail that we are all searching for!
Some people pay specialists to do that for them.
I always share Folksyâs daily post - or at least aim to - and visit the shops with their beautiful makes. Itâs a lovely way to find wonderful new handcrafted things
Okay yet again deleted my replies as fed up with getting attacked. Unless you tow the party line not entitled to your own opinion here. You have won again!!!
It would be interesting to see the insight figures re views by followers / non-followers on say a weekâs worth of Folksy posts.
My own figures show that reels and videos attract a far better balance of non followers ( ie new viewers ) Vs existing followers than static posts âŚhowever enticing the content.
Or to see those two figures against any post really, static or otherwise. That is what I always check to see if a post is doing well or not.
Comments on Folksy posts are 99.9% from the usual Folksy brigade.
In my own case I really love to see comments from non followers against my posts. It means they are getting out there, being seen
.
. What %age of Folksy posts are reaching the rest of the big world out there. The currently non Followers ??
I agree Joy but we are persona non-grata and not allowed our own opinions. Does not matter that we probably have more insight and experience about all things business.
The forums are a place where all views are welcomed - I always enjoy meaningful, balanced debate
Itâs good that everyone can air their views, and especially good that Folksy actively ask for our opinions, I really appreciate it.
And we can even give our opinion on how they ask for our opinion, like on this thread about the survey
@Caroleecrafts Weâre sorry that you feel that youâre not welcome to share your thoughts, no one has said that you canât post your own opinion and it was your own decision to delete your comments, rather than anyone suggesting you should do this. However, not everyone will have the same opinion as you and they have just as much right to share their own thoughts as you do. Someone sharing an opinion thatâs different to yours doesnât mean that theyâre trying to attack you, just that they want to show that not everyone feels the same way. We value hearing a wide range of opinions, and ask that everyone shows a willing to listen to different perspectives, even if they donât personally agree with them.
This is one reason why we feel itâs important to do surveys such as this occasionally. Although we know we can get opinions from places such as the forum, we understand that the responses we get here may be limited as answers can be influenced by whatâs been said previously, and some people may not feel comfortable to give answers that go against other replies. We want to make sure weâre getting the opinion of a wide range of sellers, and not just listening to the few with the loudest voices, whose preferences and requirements might not always match with the majority.
As one of the new shops on Folksy I wouldnât feel comfortable sharing my views on this platform (until nowâŚand Iâm still debating whether to delete) so I think itâs great that you do a survey so we all get a say. I stick to the what did you list today type categories on the forum
Thatâs a real shame that you feel like you canât join in conversations and say what you like.
I admit that I do very frequently bite my tongue / sit on my hands when reading the forums here but thatâs usually because I quite often have the urge to disagree, which never ends well and is of little value to anyone. However, if I have a viewpoint I want to share and / or think I can add to the conversation, I wonât hesitate to post then. Hope you decide to do likewise
Yes, youâve summed it up, I also often donât agree with some of the more forceful opinions but lifeâs too short to get into negative discussions, lol. I like the forum in general and have had some really helpful advice and itâs good to connect with other Folksyâs.
Iâd just like to welcome you and hope you enjoy Folksy and the forums. Thereâs lots of good advice and help - and friendly people too!
Joy, this is a good idea - Iâve just gone and done some comparisons on my own moving and static Instagram posts and Iâve actually been surprised. The results were the opposite of what I expected! I know Folksyâs stats are probably quite different to mine as they have a much larger audience but it was an interesting review!
Iâm just going to collate the information, then Iâll show it here.
The top row of these stats are the last 3 reels Iâve posted
The bottom row of these starts are the last 3 totally static photos that Iâve posted (must admit I didnât have that many and a couple spanned back a few months so have had longer to accumulate views, so the stats could be slightly skewed in that respect)
Obviously hashtags will make quite a difference but in general at the moment most of my hashtags are very similar as I just canât think of new things to tag my work as!
(I know your question was aimed at Folksyâs stats, so it doenât answer your question but it was interesting for me to find this information out!)
Are those stats only available on professional accounts?
Having got the survey email Friday, I went to fill it in today (as have been busy) and itâs now closed!
I checked back and the email doesnât indicate a short open time period to complete it, so I had expected it would be open a week at least!
Are Folksy surveys generally this quick to open and close, just so I can be aware when/if there is another!
That is exactly what I have just done! Perhaps they are tweaking the questions, as there was some criticism of the format by other Folksy sellers, but as I never got that far, I will never know.
The survey has been closed now as weâve reached our target amount of responses. As weâre aiming for a certain sample size, itâs hard for us to predict how long it will take to get to the required amount, as it depends on how responsive the people emailed are. It turns out we had a lot of people answering over the weekend so it was quick this time.
This was just the first part of our research though, so keep an eye out for more.
Iâm actually not sure @TheHermitsBothy
I think it might be @dotterypottery , I canât see stats on mine. Probably just as well, one less thing to scratch my head over!
