Hi all! I wanted to reach out and ask what do people find the best to use when posting crochet items? I mainly have plushies so they vary in size and I have had a little look on Amazon for bulk packets of cardboard boxes and some of the prices are a little more than I expected… does anyone have any go to places they use for boxes or alternative packing please? I am still new to online shops and I was thinking just ‘order and try it out’ but also dont want to end up wasting stuff either! I have been doing fairs all mostly and want to move to online more than in person
I get mine from A as the packaging companies I have found have minimum order restriction, which is out of my depth at the moment (I only order 10 or so at a time, as I too, use different sizes). I’ve been in the lookout for cube boxes lately and I noticed that once you move away from the standard large letter/small parcel pip boxes, there is a big jump on the prices. For yours, could mug boxes do the job? Or even padded envelopes for the small ones maybe?
I use a lot of boxes - all types and sizes. I’ve found tidmas-packaging on Ebay to be good quality and economical too. Bulk ordering 50, 100 or 200 really brings the price down if you know you are going to need them.
I spent many years selling crochet items and although not plushies, you have the advantage of them not being delicate…they bounce if dropped and not much harm can come to them.
So I put them in a poly bag ( bought bulk on the bay) and then put them in a self seal , plastic postal sack to protect it from any bad weather.
Everything arrived perfectly.
My advice is that boxes (unless they fit through a letterbox) can be a barrier to delivery. So if the item is not breakable, I would recommend a poly/paper bag etc so the postie may be able to squeeze it through a letterbox
