Wet Tuesday

Dry at the moment where I am up North, but according to Met site, it’s meant to rain all day today. Definitely staying indoors, I did enjoy lots of sun yesterday. :sunglasses: I can’t complain.
I changed my shop’s url and I need to make sure it’s updated everywhere. Then I need to finish knitting a scarf…pasta for lunch first, though!

I see a tree outside my window with yellowish leaves on top…it was all green last week!
I’m not ready for fall yet, but I do love the season too.

It’s been raining all day up here in Northumberland and showing no signs of easing up. :frowning:

Oh no poor you Alison.
Hope you don’t have to go out anywhere.

I’ve been out with the dogs this morning (waterproofed to the hilt!) but am staying indoors all afternoon. :grinning:

Sounds like the majority of us are staying in today.
What’s everyone making? I have just finished a Santa’s hat charm bracelet.

I’ve bitten the bullet and am installing Windows 10 in the background whilst finishing off a lot of projects. My cat is asleep on the bed, so I can’t do what I wanted to, which is hammering some frames!

Hello peeps! Drizzling since the morning in here… Stats down… Just quiet…

funny place to hammer frames Rhiannon @RhiannonRoseJewellery cant you make a little nest for the cat somewhere else and do the job?
Still knitting in this neck of the woods, I may even get to the end of my to do this at this rate!! Love the rain.

Dull and grey but dry here (south Derbyshire). There’s definitely a pattern in all these posts - wet in the east, dull and dry in the middle and sunny in the west. It even fits with the weather forecast - looks like they actually got it right!

Good luck with Windows 10 Rhiannon @RhiannonRoseJewellery. I’ve installed it and been having a few teething troubles!

Lol, Suzzie @thistledownandHOPE he is asleep on the bed in my craft room! He also has several beds around the place, but this is his current favourite - we think he likes to be with me because he knows someone’s there but I don’t fuss his too much. And thanks for the thought Helen @PocketfulCreations, but I really can’t deal with Windows 8 any more. Switching back to Window 7 at school is painful. None of my children have had problems with it so far, so I’m hoping it’ll be an improvement on Windows 8.

Since we installed it we’ve lost our old e-mail account (which has the e-mails with all the info on our upcoming holiday and we haven’t printed them off - ouch!!) It seems we need to set up a Microsoft account to retrieve it but every time we try, it doesn’t work! Neither me nor my hubby are brilliant with technology so we get a bit lost sometimes. We’re waiting for some help from a friend now who can (hopefully) sort it out for us.

Did you read the report on privacy and Window10 yet ?

I’ve printed it off and spoken to my IT specialist and he says the report is correct and extremely well written and ‘his’ lot have been aware of the problems.

I’d put up the link and it tells you how to protect yourself as much as possible if you do upgrade to it.

Oh and if you decide you don’t want to use it it’s extremely difficult to remove it. It also not compatable with internet sites that use silverlite. There are also problems with compatability with many different printer drivers.

Yep lots of reports of the email problem as well.

It’s not fully tested that’s why it’s being offered free. It’s always best to wait at least 6months until all the ‘bugs’ are discovered by users and the ‘patches’ are developed and added.

Well, Windows 10 is up and running fine. No email problems (yet) haven’t been into all of my accounts though. As far as I’m concerned the security problems pale into insignificance compared to the complete and utter awfulness of using Windows 8, which is the most counter-intuitive, backwards looking version of any OS since (possibly) Windows Vista, which I managed to avoid.
And on the plus side, I’ve knitted loads whilst it was installing!

I wish my other half had waited but he’s computer obsessed.
Now he’s sorted what the problem is it does work really well.
Especially as it links all his gaming stuff.

My new laptop arrived today…terrified of it…and installing windows 10…I will keep using my present laptop until I get the hang of the new one…maybe at Christmas…ha ha
I presently have windows vista and love it…

I know what you mean Brenda, the memory on my laptop is almost full and dread the thought of starting again with a new one.
