What are you reading or what was the last book you read? Would you recommend it? NO SPOILERS!
Just finishing re-reading the whole Harry Potter series - probably about the 6th time now LOL!
Also halfway through a Charlotte Mary Yonge book on my kindle - theyāre old books, so free to download If you like older stories about families and social lives from the mid 19th century onwards they are worth looking at - and many of the books have characters linking in to other stories - itās a bit like a precursor to modern soaps LOL.
Iām working my way through isaac asimovās foundation series for probably the 10th time. canāt beaat classic scifi
Lots of gardening books.
Presently landscaping new garden, previous owners just had lawn, so far we have re-fenced the back and built a garden divide with an archway and trellis, all handmade. Have to re-build ebay greenhouse, (not easy, neither of us were into Meccano as kids). Will then be making raised beds for veggies and an arbour for the floral side of the garden.
Oohā¦just thought we will be able to upload photos to show the finished masterpiece now.
I have just had them all read to me by Steven Fry ( for about the 6th time) whilst working.
I am reading The Last breath by Denise Mina - Glasgow based crime thriller
Replying to this post by way of feedback for new format - although it says clearly that deborah is replying to dandelion, I had to scroll back up to find dandelionās post. if the thread was longer, that would be tricky!
edited to add - my post (which was a direct reply to deborahās, I thought,) doesnāt have a āin reply toā badge like hers does. is that because itās MY post anyway, or have I misunderstood?
Iām reading Wolf Hall. Finally. No spoilers but some of the lead characters get either divorced, beheaded or die.
Hi
I use the WattPad app on my Nexus tablet to read books. They are all free, and everyone Iāve read has been brilliant and hard to put down.
Iām reading āDark Placesā by Jon Evans at the moment. Its about a back packer trekking the mountains of the Himalayaās. When he discovers a body the story turns into a thriller when he begins to wonder if the murderer is now on his trail.

If you click on the āin reply toā box, it brings up the post that is being replied to above the reply. If that makes sense?!
Oh, dear. Iām reading āManson: The life and times of Charles Mansonā.
Iām usually reading something much nicer, I promise ā you caught me on a dark/off week.
Spoiler alert: Heās a horrible psychopath.
Oh, and a big shout to all Asimov fans!
I am re reading all the Inspector Morse books. My son listens to the Harry Potter cds on a loop - when he finishes them, he starts again - donāt know how they arenāt worn out!
Reading āThe Lord of the Ringsā to my daughter, āPrince Caspianā to my son and dipping into āWill We Ever Learn How To Speak Dolphin?ā for me. Iām particularly enjoying āPrince Caspianā as itās so long since I read it before - not since I was a child myself. Makes me feel quite nostalgic!
My husband has just read it too - found it quite gripping.
I hope this works! my first reply in the new forum Iāve just read Police by Jo Nesbo, I do like a crime thriller, Iāve read all of the Harry hole series, I need another fix though now, canāt be without a book for too long. I love the smileys, they are fab !!
Suzanne
Love the Harry Holes too. I like Ian Rankinās books and he recommended the Denise Mina books that Iām reading now - the Paddy Meehan series. All good gritty stuff
Iāve just finished a Barbara Vine on my new kindle - āChildās childā which was excellent.
Had to get a new kindle after my last trip as the screen of the last one got squidged when it went through the scanner at Manchester Airport. Not the scanner but the security man who put it in the tray for me and I suspect pressed it together in its leather case tooooo hard. Looked like an etch a sketch.
How do I get emoticons
( did that one with a : and a ). I notice that when I type a : it gives me a popup selection of a few but I want all of them !
aha - so it does! thank you
stephen fry comes round every day for storytime, does he? lucky girl!
We get it repeated in time posted order too, which is a little confusing. Is there a way to jump back from the repeat to the original post that was being replied to?
yeah they really are very good. I will check out the Denise Mena books, I need another series to get stuck into
