Just re listed one of our favourites clocks.
So, spent half an hour cutting this stainless steel fork, hopefully turning it into a cat - 1st attempt. Now to chop off the legs, file it alot and make some sort of fist of the face - wish me luck! If it works, it will appear in my shop very soon.
Just a favourite two sided necklace… Mothers day gift perhaps!
After a successful but hectic run up to Christmas, I took January and February completely off.
Now I’m back at the workbench and working on this old electric guitar;
Good to see you back Mick after some R&R. Looking forward to seeing this one, looks intriguing
This looks like an exciting project Mick @SteampunkCreativeEngineering
Thank you Jean and Hilary, I’m getting back into it gently but looking forward to seeing the finished result of this one, it will be different!
Finished the guitar, I think it’s come out well with the musical theme bulb in front and the backlight to highlight the silhouette. Both are controlled by rotary dimmer switches where the tone and volume controls originally were. I won’t be listing it just yet as I have a customer who is very interested…
That’s awesome Mick @SteampunkCreativeEngineering
I’ve just come home from a few days in Barcelona where I found this gorgeous fabric and somehow managed to squeeze a couple of metres in my hand luggage. Couldn’t wait to get out my scissors and start making
WOW. She’s stunning.
WIP I’ve not done any wool felting in absolutely ages. Decided to kick start again. I do really well with these at fairs, but am going to see how they do in my Folksy Shop. Sheep need to be completed and then it’s those outlines to make the each section stand out a bit more.
It’s been a long time since I popped here, some really lovely and interesting items on the table, love the colours you are using @RusticCountryStyleCrafts and there are some really pretty embroidered pieces.
I starting designing a new doll (why I didn’t just make one of my old designs I don’t know) it’s been a few years since I last had dolls in my shop. There have been a few challenges, lots of changes as I have gone along which is resulting in more than one doll on the table whilst I try different versions. They are starting to come together now after a few days but a long way from finishing and i havn’t yet tackled their faces which is always the hardest part and the one that makes or breaks them. My original design has changed quite a bit with the addition of side panels to the body to enable the fitting of cotter pin joints, a neck addition to one without joints, fabric disk to the neck of the body and an actual complete new doll was cut out. I am starting to feel a bit more relaxed with it now but a lot of days work if they don’t turn out as planned. I started with a troll in mind but I’m not quite sure now I think they will be mythical creatures, part elf part troll perhaps, they have very lumpy bumpy arms and legs anyway. I will just be pleased if I manage to get everything in proportion.

Your dolls are stunning @crumplingsworkshop
I’m knitting a baby blanket for my great niece due end April
It’s my own design and I had do much fun deciding on vintage colours and stripe combos.
It’s really clever and a great way to use old seriously good quality cutlery.
I’ve hot a big box of my mother in law’s old cutlery and it’s so so heavy
Yes, that’s the problem when trying to cut stainless steel - it’s tough and very heavy! If you have the proper sterling silver though, it’s easier to work with, though there are other complications in using them so for now, I’m using what I’ve already got and what is easily get-able.
The process to veneer a small box before final finishing and pyrographing images. Box to be uploaded later in spring 2025.
These dolls are now one week in and I have only started on one head, the second one is now having the same style so the additional neck piece I made for a simple head now has to be removed and I need to make another head ..I hope the next few days are more positive qnd productive
