I opened a new shop here yesterday and I’d just like to say a big thank you to everyone on Folksy who made me feel so welcome.
I never expected so many people to respond with such helpful advice and words of encouragement. It’s really great to know that Folksy has such a fantastic, caring community and I’m really looking forward to sharing my work with you all.
Hello Christopher, I’m glad you have found Folksy sellers to be so welcoming. I always say we may not be the biggest or the most well known selling platform but we are the BEST and so much of that is down to the lovely people here. Are you on FB, instagram etc? If you are it would be good to add a link from your shop to them. Also if you get the chance fill in the about the maker section as it’s really nice to know about the people you’re buying from.
well done on joining in…everyone here is very helpful. There are even silly games on the forum. The more you take part, the more people will get to know you and then when someone is looking for a gift, they will say “Ah, I know a shop on here with just the thing!”
You can even start your own thread …
Some of the threads are designed to tempt people to go and look in your shop…like the ones where you favourite something from the shop listed above you ( on the thread)…and you have to go to their shop to favourite something…in return the next person looks in YOUR shop…very clever and we then all get to know each other…

I’ve had an Etsy account for years but unfortunately the community has been pretty much nonexistent. It’s so refreshing to be able to actually speak to other artists and creators.

Everyone has been so lovely and helpful. It’s a far cry from Etsy, which unfortunately is really lacking in community interaction.

Welcome to Folksy, love your crescent moon and enjoyed your about section, love all things mystical, I use to love reading the cards many years ago and long to get back to it all (when time allows) I find it all so fascinating.
