Hello everyone, My name is Lorie and I am based in Mid Devon. I’m brand new to Folksy and finding my feet, so I hope it’s ok to ask this straight away,
What’s the easiest way to migrate from Vinted to Folksy without having to rewrite absolutely everything from scratch?
A little about me, I’m recently retired and slowly winding down after years of upcycling, sewing and making. I create handmade bags, fabric items and small sewn pieces, and I also upcycle furniture and enjoy giving unloved things a second life.
I also have a massive amount of brand new fabric, all unused, which is currently listed on Vinted under user name Twixtmoors. These items are not trade purchases, they are surplus fabrics from my working life that I’m now carefully releasing as part of my retirement clear out.
I’ve been selling on Vinted for a while, mostly fabrics (with a few other bits thrown in) and I’m used to that style of listing. Folksy feels like a much better fit for the handmade and creative side of what I do, but I’m hoping there’s a sensible, time saving way to adapt existing listings rather than starting from zero.
I alsi have a lot of unused furniture paint (and I do mean a lot). Can this type if product be sokd on here?
If anyone has tips, shortcuts, or lessons learned from moving platforms, I’d be hugely grateful. Thanks for reading, and hello
Sorry, don’t know much about selling paint or vintage goods, but you can ask Folksy support, you will get a response from a real human. Contact: support@folksy.co.uk
With regard to moving from ‘V’ (other platforms are not mentioned here) to Folksy you might be able to get it ported over by Folksy support too. Ask them about that too. They do it for ‘E..y’ shops moving to Folksy, That is what I did.
We are in Torquay, so just across the county from you.We design, make and sell wood based products generally. Both Barb and I have recently retired similar to you.
Folksy has a better community than Etsy, from our experiences over the last two years. Although sales seem to be down on both. along with Mr tTump and his import / postage embargos, similarly the EU thing as well. But we get by and still get sales.
Thank you. The commercial.furniture paint is ‘hand finished’. I bought in the the base paints and tinted them myself. The other paint I have iis truly mine. I had the paint made up to a special recipe so that I was ‘plastic free’. It is not a commercial paint and cannot be bought anywhere else, but I did have to get a paint manufactor to make it and send it to ne in bulk. I then put it into pots and add colourants. The plastic free paint has be used by artists too.
The paint are supplies , and Ibwould be happy to sell as commercial products.
