hi brenda,
sorry if was confusing you - i didn’t realise that you didn’t have access to much social media. best wishes.
I like the idea of a collaborative campaign such as the #folksyfriday
We couldn’t shorted #folksyfriday to #ff though because #ff to most people on Twitter etc means ‘follow friday’.
I like the idea though. It can be used on Instagram as well. Well- most social media for that matter.
And if it will just ultimately drive people to Folksy- it doesn’t matter that not everyone is on whatever social media or can’t take part for whatever reason- that’s just part of any campaign I suppose- not everyone is able to take part. But there’s enough of us on these things to help make a difference I think.
I would be very happy to do a Folksy Friday post on my blog every week, although I don’t have much of a following yet xx
Also, I think it’s worth looking at the #justacard campaign as I see promotional material for that everywhere. Could we produce a Folksy flyer that we could all print off and add to envelopes when we post out orders?
oh I could do a post on facebook, twitter and google+ I could do one this Friday on facebook, then one next week on twitter, then the third Friday do one on google+
Can I use the main folksy page url in my posts?
good idea ,( if i could work out how to print it out for my local gallery)
Doing my bit for #folksyfriday on twitter and facebook today (I only joined twitter yesterday!)
Sorry if I’m off topic but how do you link your FB account to your Twitter account so your FB posts show up on Twitter? I can manage it so my Twitter RTs show on FB but not the other way around. Can’t seem to see where that option is in the FB menu. Thanks for reminding me @StephanieGuy as I keep meaning to do it and then forgetting.

Deleted my post as I see another has been started so I will join in with that one!!
Oh gawd it was so long ago I honestly can’t remember how to do it! Let me have a google…
OK, try this link https://www.facebook.com/twitter
Thanks Stephanie! That worked a treat

Camilla, I’m not sure about Facebook- it could be a complete waste of money as they seem to restrict who can see what on a random basis. (e.g. today I have just seven posts in my pages feed despite liking and following hundreds of pages)
Google ads seems like a much better idea. Rather than set up another membership option with another tier of admin, why not just add a few pence to every listing fee and promote everybody?
That sounds like a good idea @rosesworkshop. E… pay for something called Google Product Listings (I think that’s what it’s called ) and I have had a couple of sales on there as a direct result of those.
I replied on this topic on the other thread
http://talk.folksy.com/t/we-havent-turned-into-ebay-have-we/11046/345
but thought I would add my thoughts here too.
With regard to flyers/car stickers Folksy seem to be concentrating on providing us with the ability to produce items advertising our own shops but with the addition of the Folksy logo, or at least thats what I think they are doing. Wouldn’t it be better to produce a flyer/car sticker/bag etc that just advertises the Folksy brand - it would be far cheaper for Folksy to roll out a few thousand of these and sell them on to us than it would be for each individual shop to get customised items. I can advertise my own shop using my business card but if I had a flyer that said “I sell on Folksy” with the Folksy logo and web address I would happily take them along to craft fairs etc or put a sticker on my car. I know it wouldn’t necessarily bring customers to my shop but it would help get Folksy known as a whole.
Would something like this be an option Camilla @folksycontent ?
Bags would be good, car stickers would have some impact when parked, super markets, diy etc but the car in front is the most important car on the road to me and my attention is on it not a sticker.
Quick edit: perhaps modify that to"I sell handmade on folksy .com."
Handmade could make it a conversation piece. The curious may ask “what do you make” -“oh we make allsorts etc, etc”.
“Is there a way to get TV interested in us? It worked well for a local farmer, there is enough going on here to create a soap never mind a small series.”
i like the idea of folksy sellers being the new kardashians!
(not for me though - i rarely get out of my pyjamas until lunchtime)
Lunchtime? isn’t that around midnight? It is to me.
In fact your zombie embroiderie is me before that time.
