I’m now getting ready for my stall on Wednesday. But I can’t seem to get myself together.
My brain doesn’t work at all.
Does anyone else get like this before a stall or fair?
Yeah, usually it’s a last-minute panic and I always forget something! I get quite nervy and indecisive too, which is unlike me generally, so don’t worry, you’re not alone
That’s good to know. So far iv only packed my earrings. eek
I have a vintage fair this sunday, thinking about what I can take and still need to make price labels!!
I hope it goes well.
I’m still trying to pack everything up for my stall on Wednesday but I’m not getting any thing done
I’m doing my first craft fair of the year this weekend, The Garden Show at Firle Place, near Lewes in Sussex. It’s a 3 day event - Friday to Sunday - and I’ll be in the Art & Design marquee.
Any Sussex folk out there?
My shop will be in holiday mode for the duration, as much of my stock will be going with me.
I am attending a small craft fair this weekend in our town of Exmouth. It’s the first one of the yearm so a bit apprehensive. Hubby has told me not to take too much but I need to make my money back otherwise its a waste of time.
Vintage fair this sunday, I can take som ehandmade items but mostly items already made, Found a whole box of 70’s necklaces the other day. I had a huge flashback to my youth!
It’s my first craft fair of the year this Sunday, so I’m trying to remember where I stashed tablecloths and display stands at Christmas.
“Prom Art” is outside, along the promenade at Grange-over Sands. It’s a fantastic venue, but at the mercy of the weather. Fingers crossed for mild and spring-like
I’ve got three booked, Town Hall Llandudno on Mon 25th , Beaumaris Leisure centre on 7th June and Mold 11th July. If you live in North Wales get in touch. Iv’e only done 2, they weren’t busy. Iv’e teamed up with another card seller so we share the expenses.
Hi, not sure if this is the right area - but I am going to a small craft fair in a few weeks time and wondered if anyone had any bright ideas for how to display interestingly- ie simple cheap risers?? I’ve got a cork notice board I hope to display small brooches etc on and a stylish chrome mug tree for some other items and a brick of florist foam I’ve covered, but need some guidance please. I only have a 4 1/2 foot table so not lot of space. Many thanks, CrochetNotes, E xx
Hi
I use cake stands to display things on smaller tables. they are good as they give you different levels to draw peoples eyes too. Plus you can display things infrastructure of them.
The cork boards are going too. I display necklaces on them.
Don’t know if that helps.
I used to use a couple of those fold-up crates you can buy quite cheaply. They were useful for transporting stuff, then I would turn them over and cover them with some fabric to create a bit of height on the table.
I cancelled the 4 fairs I was doing in the summer as my poor (steroid injection which went wrong) right hand couldn’t work fast enough to set up my stall in the limited time we’re always allowed.
I’m now quietly optimistic that my thumb which has been numb (yes my grandchildren like that rhyme ) is at last getting better and I have feeling in it now except the top joint and hopefully therefore my index finger will be better in a few months as well. It seems that damaged nerves do seem to recover in a sort of linear fashion.
Now I’m far less likely to drop things (very easy to drop when you can’t feel what you’re holding) I’m starting to book a few pre Xmas things. Got a couple of months before the first one so my thumb is under notice to complete its recovery before then.
@JOYSofGLASS I hope things get better soon.
I have a vintage fair this weekend. 1 more vintage fair after that this year and 2 craft fairs. Ive had a rethink on the things I shall make and take. I can only afford limited space this year so I wont be taking my cushions anymore(nobody bought them anyway). Im going to try to make small modern looking things.
Hi have booked a 10ft space at the Plums festival in Worcestershire, its a huge function, I am there on the Bank holiday Monday, I’m looking forward to this very much, it cost £50.00 for the pitch for the day, lets hope its fine weather, has anyone else booked for this festival ? let me know
Thanks… have a good day everyone, happy sales
Sue
Hope it goes well sue.
If I lived in the area I’d come say hello.
But I’ll be going to our massive environmental fair not as a seller though. It is.so much fun music, tons of stalls, food, drink the list goes on.
I’m really looking forward to it.
You will have to let.us know how it goes
I would looove to do a festival @suebeacham
I am doing my first gift fair in November, I’ve kinda gone off them!
Had a chance of a stall at a pop up for £40 over 2days or £25 for one day, but when I saw the photos on Fb it didn’t look busy and when I asked, I was told it was steady, but no one raved about it, so was glad I didn’t, seemed a lot of money and my items aren’t expensive so feel I would need to sell a lot to recoup my fee and make it worth the time. It’s definitely location that’s the key!
@hobbitgirlie1880 @Amberlilly Thank for getting back to me, sorry I am late with a message back to you both, I’ve been busy, have fun at your massive enviromental fair , it sound like great fun, the plums fair goes on for three day over the bank holiday, full of music and so much food on sale along with all the craft stall, its going to be lovely, I’m hoping for at least fine weather, nothing worst than rain !!!.
I agree with you @Amberlilly, its not worth going to a craft fair that isn’t supported, its not cost effective, you lose out, maybe you can go to next years Plum Festival in Worcertershire, its in Pershore , I will let you know how I get on with this years, its my fist time with them so Im really looking forward to it.
have a lovey day both of you
