That disclaimer isn’t worth the typing it took to upload it to their site lol.
If they don’t know know where the image came from they shouldn’t upload to their site DOH!

Try uploading photos with low resolution too, that might help.
I had a similar issue with ebay - not with jewellery, but with an item I was selling in general. It was a few weeks after selling it, when I was just browsing to see what similar items were making on the auction and thought - ‘hey, that is MY landing!’ Someone who was selling a similar item had used my image to sell their item. I was rather taken aback by it. Blinking cheek of it!
Just done a search, found my image being used in a couple of really badly executed bits of online design. Sent a cease and desist to the German one unfortunately the other is in Rumanian or something couldn’t penetrate the means of contacting them. Very rude people and it’s stealing, I have the image for sale through Redbubble and Zazzle I’m not giving it away free!
I suppose you could see it as flattering, but it dloesn’t help pay the bills when work is blatantly stolen.
I’ve never understand how anyone can see it as flattery when some lowlife steals from you. grrrrr
I’m having to get a friend who reads Russian to look at mine for me so they can send a cease and desist notice in Russian so there can be no misunderstanding due to language.
Regarding what Jacqueline was saying about images on eBay - stealing photos is rife, made even worse now with their very strict rules on watermarking. It’s impossible really to protect images, and although they say we can report instances of this, in my experience nothing is ever done.
It’s not just photos either, it’s descriptions too! I’ve two or three times had my creatively written description copied verbatim - they don’t even bother to change it even a little bit. In one case the ornament they were selling was a completely different size from mine - they just copy/pasted my text without even changing the dimensions, and used it alongside their own photo. I can only imagine they had a very unhappy customer who would have received an item 4 times the size of my cute miniature!
It’s a real breath of fresh air listing unique items on Folksy where this is unlikely to be such a problem.
Got a slightly difficult to understand apology from the German site. The image is no longer visible there. I posted a ‘thief’ link on facebook to the Rumanian one and magically my image is no longer part of their design any more.
Great results well done.
