Has anyone got any favourite brushes? I’m on the look out for some new ones and wondered what people’s recommendations are… I really want to get some sable brushes, as slowly trying to get better quality supplies. I’ve invested in 100% cotton paper which was a real eye opener and next step is brushes. I’m hoping to slowly upgrade my cotman pans to professional ones too.

Hi - I have these - I went on a course with a fantastic artist years ago and she recommended them. Apparently it’s the tip that is important, the brush size doesn’t matter so you don’t necessarily need thin brushes if you want to do fine work, you can have fat brush but if it ends in a fine tip it’s the best all purpose brush you could have.

I can’t get out and about much for inspiration at the moment, for obvious reasons, so I’ve painted my garden shed! Artistic licence allows me to substitute a rustic wall for B&Q fence panels.
