Art Chat thread...Feb 2019

I try to use natural light with a plain white background for photography, but I always have to edit the living daylights out of it afterwards. I am never completely happy with it. Photographing art is not easy. It is an art in itself.

Loving your work and the off the wall subject matter @Kuriology. I used to love working with papier maché when I was at school. I made some papier maché wombles that I was very proud of as a nine year old! Often contemplated getting back into it.
I’m in Cornwall too.

Hello all
I enjoy working with paper mache, although prefer working with it in the warmer months!
I am often amazed at the different things people make, such a great and cheap medium to work with, which can yield some fantastic looking pieces.
Hello to @Kuriology, just had a look through your shop, pretty unique items! I do love Gothic art, and particularly liked your Baron Samedi!
The weather does seem to be warming up a bit, so I will have to get mache-ing again soon!

Thanks for reply.

Papier maché is sort of cursed by the perception its just something kids do in school, but when you look at some of the 19th & 20th Century antique creations, it makes the mind boggle at its versatility of use.

Thanx for reply
Oh, I don’t do sticky cold wet pulpy sloppy stuff.
That takes a millennium to dry out. (Been there done that & takes way far to long).
I create a form & then paper-mache skin it. Reduces drying times radically.
