Art chat thread July 2020

Nothing added in my shop yet but during Lockdown I’ve been working on getting to grips with gel printing, not to make collage material or gift tags, but as a serious tool to make art. Over the last five weeks I think I can genuinely say I’m making progress. Here’s a couple, both 12"x12". I now have a set of at least 20 such prints. You can see more in my IG feed (https://www.instagram.com/ianbertramuk.artist/)

Welcome Rona @RBArt. I have long admired your work on Facebook, good to see it here too.

New listing A3 watercolour, “Summer Evening Swimmers” on an eerily quiet local beach.

Chris @ChrisStoneArtist you’ve really captured the water remaining on the beach very well. Am impressed because water is difficult to paint.

Thanks Heather. I’ve been painting water for years and learn more every time I do it. I actually did very little to achieve that effect. Some masking fluid splatters, a few scrapes with a dry brush and a little bit of blending. Less is more is often the best policy with watercolour.
