Art collaboration - excited!

At the beginning of the year a local artist came up with an idea that would eventually involve 108 artists worldwide. Duncan Grant wanted to raise money for charity but also wanted to showcase some great artistic talent. He thought a great way would be for each artist to design and interpret a playing card. The King of Hearts was picked for me, so being a textile based arty peep, I came up with this hand stitched card. The White Hart was the emblem of Richard II, taken from his mother Joan, aka “The Fair Maid of Kent” which seemed appropriate as I’m Kent based. Packs of playing cards will be going on sale, as well as exhibitions of the original artwork.

Really excited about this project, some great artwork contributed by all sorts of different artists, and just thought I’d share here
