Black Friday promotions

Hi there, I will have a 5% discount on all items across my folksy shop  www.folksy.com/shops/featheredavenue

Hi I’ll be offering a 20% discount in my shop over the weekend. Please include me in the gift guide https://folksy.com/shops/ashadebrighter I’ve tagged items to be promoted with #BlackFriday.Thank you.

Hi Camilla!

I haven’t read every single post on this feed, so this might have been mentioned before, but I would like to know if Folksy could consider doing something with a # like this for the January Sales as well. I was thinking of having a heavy discount on certain items after Xmas and I noticed that a lot of other people do the same thing.

Hi Camilla,
I’m with Sam on the january sales thing. I have a few items that if they don’t sell in the run up to Christmas I was planning on discounting and then possibly dismantling if they still don’t sell but I don’t want to do a blanket discount across my shop in the run up to Christmas.

Does it have to be a discount on everything, something like 4 for the price of 3 would work better for me

Hi Sue, at the moment the discount codes are a bit basic and are set up to be a % discount across your whole shop. There is no facility to do anything fancy like put a minimum order value, disclude an item (they would need to be hidden from view at the moment) or 4 for 3 offers. I’m not sure if they could work out the logistics of how to do something like that, certainly not in time for this year’s black friday anyway. Maybe, eventually, if they prove popular enough discounts might become more fancy.

I’m going to be offering 20% discount in my shop

Just reading through these posts with interest as my opinion is the same as yours Christine - it feels a little bit like we’re missing out if we don’t do it (because Folksy are advocating it) but think I’m going to stick to my original guns and not get involved! My black friday weekend was the busiest last year too, without sales or promotions, so lets hope this year os the same

Hi I will be offering a discount for black Friday 20% off @Elabora and free delivery
thanks Peter

Yes, I’m with you @clairegentdesign and @ciesse I’m not participating, November last year was good for me too, see what happens this year - it will be interesting.

Hi - I’m not a fan of Black Friday - but - I do have a sale in my shop at the moment which will last till January when the listings expire . I’m sure that these are genuine bargains - so I don’t really get the point of the feeding frenzy there are good deals out there right now - Why wait ?

Hi Camilla

I’d like to be involved please and am happy to give a 20% discount.

As I also sell wholesale to shops, I already have to price my work at a retail price that will survive at least a 50% reduction, so I’m happy with 20% for for a weekend.

I do understand the reservations as it does feel like a big business marketing stunt. However customers out there are very familiar with the concept now, so I think Folksy are doing a good thing to get involved with it, especially as it is very specific to internet shopping!

Thanks - Alison

10% discount until Christmas using the following code
xmas

20% discount offered. Thank you.

Could someone advise me on whether I can take part in this for a selection of products in my shop (such as applying the discount just to a certain collection), rather than it applying to every item in my shop? I earn way below minimum wage for a lot of my designs, so could only apply a discount to certain items. Would like to be involved if this is possible. Thanks!

Unfortunately, no. I am going to deactivate the items I am not putting on sale. Only way around it.

Thanks for your help. I won’t be able to do that as it’d be about 200 items for me, golly! It’s a shame that we feel forced to deactivate our work on such a busy weekend, too. If Folksy have any other solutions or workarounds I’d like a heads-up

I would like to take part but I have a craft fair on the Saturday and only make one off items, can I hide items for part of the day on Saturday just in case I sell something twice? Or is there any other way to get round this?

Hi Camilla!
I’ll be offering 25% off over the weekend :sunny:
