Bogus shops?

Hi there I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed that there seem to be a large number of new shops popping up where the goods in them are all priced well over the value of the items. I have checked a few out and the photos seems to have been taken from Artfire and other sites such as Amazon and I have a feeling these shops are not genuine sellers. All the items seem to be at least 10 times the price that the items can be found on other sites and I was wondering whether Folksy admin had noticed them too. I have been reporting when I find them as I would hate customers to be ripped off and its not fair on us genuine UK sellers who work our little bottoms off to produce high quality handmade products :slight_smile: @Folksyadmin

Thanks for letting us know, they’re getting suspended now.
These are part of our current Stripe problem, so if you notice any from the past few weeks that we haven’t found yet, please send an email to support so they can be dealt with quickly.

You prompted me to have a look Sharon! Found a jewellery shop with a weird username & no info filled in. Google image search finds the products also on sale on E**y but from a seller based in California. Will report, doubt it’s actually them that’s set up a shop, it’ll be some scammer / bot type thing has just used their images. Always makes me wonder what the point is for the scammer, surely any shopper would look at the dodgy listing & would realise it’s not legit. Doesn’t make the site look good though!

I think I had already reported that one Dee :wink: the shop names seem to be a giveaway most of the time :wink: xxx

Yep - clicked report & it had already gone. Super speedy!!
Good to know why these are appearing at least. Still makes me scratch my head though - they are paying to list items that no one will buy?! So weird.

I’ve just found and reported another that is ripping of a UK ceramic artist who sells on the dark side. Its a strange one for sure @OrukiDesign x
