Hi Can anyone tell me about the Canon PIXMA MX495 if this machine is any good for printing cardstock

I have a Canon Pixma MP495 - I’m not sure how much difference there is in the models. With mine it annoys me that I forgot to check that the colour cartridges aren’t separate - if I use a lot of one colour I have to replace the whole cartridge when that colour runs out - grrr! Printing paper is fine, but it’s not keen on printing on card - I ended up with so many chewed corners and black blobs from the chewed up bits that I gave up printing on card.
I have a Cannon MG6450 and l purchase 300gsm printer card and it has no problem, and the inks are seperate colours only snag it can be noisy at times.
