Hi all, I wondered if anyone had any recommendations for a good desk/office chair.
I have disc problems with my back and sitting making my little houses in my current chair is causing a lot of pain.
There isn’t many places to go and try them now so if anyone has a good supportive chair let me know

I bought a special cushion and some mesh back supports for mine. They’re not expensive. Look on ebay. Even when i got a better chair than I previously had I transferred them. My hairdresser has unbelievably comfortable chairs but when I asked her about them she said they were £600 each and needed them as people sat for ages getting their hair done. My solution was relatively cheap off ebay.

Donna I use a kneeling chair, like this Deluxe Posture Wooden Kneeling Chair from our Kneeling Chairs range.
I find it works really well for me if I need to do more detailed work at my desk, I also tilt my desk but appreciate you need a flat surface so that probably wouldn’t work, but the chair, ive had for years and wouldn’t go back to a normal office chair now.
I suffer from sciatica and the best thing I’ve found when I’m sitting for long periods of time is just a square pressure cushion (the type you see in hospitals or care homes!)
I’ve tried the gel cushions and the coccyx cushions but the classic foam insert pressure cushion works best for me.
I have a lot of spine issues and can’t sit at my desk for long but have mesh swivel office chairs from staples and use a tilting foot rest under the desk to keep legs slightly higher, they are comfy and fully adjustable but I have to keep my legs up and as firmer surfaces cause a lot of pain I do most of my hand sewing sat up on a soft bed as it’s the comfiest place for me.
Ikea have some swivel chairs, don’t know what they would be like as I havn’t tried them but at least you can try sitting in them in store, there looked to be a few choices the last time I went.
