Covid posting / shipping challenges

The marbling swirls remind me of some of the glass I use!! And the feathering would look great for birds xx

I honestly wouldn’t worry about your review. It doesn’t say anything negative and it doesn’t say that it arrived late. It just looks like a review from someone who would never give 5 stars

I sent out two personal packages to family for bithdays, first class, a week ago. They still haven’t arrived.
I’ve updated my ‘Shop Announcements’ to make potential buyers aware as I recently shipped two orders and concerned now when they’ll arrive!!
Considering upgrading to the tracked parcels for further orders.

I do think it’s worthwhile, especially for UK posting where adding ‘signed for’ doesn’t cost the earth, especially is you’re able to use Large Letter size.

You might also want to think about giving Hermes a try. I tried them earlier this year during the original lockdown and they are slower than Royal Mail first class, but you essentially get tracking for free / cheaper than you would using RM first class small parcel. At the time, I think their up to 2KG size cost £2.80 to send and you can add a signature on receipt for another 80p (not exactly the same service at the moment but they have a Covid alternative according to their site).

Of course, things could be different with them like any of the couriers and RM now and I have heard that the service of local Hermes couriers can differ a lot - I’m lucky to have a great one in my area, but of course you don’t know about the other end! I probably sent around 10 packages with them at the time and everything was great - could be worthwhile asking here for other people’s experience of them around the country if you do want to try them out.

Fingers crossed that everything arrives shortly!

Good news about my 2 missing parcels to the US address - The original one was posted in June (I thought it was August but it was actually June!), the replacement was posted in September…they both turned up at the customer’s neighbour’s house yesterday! Crazy!
It was an address in California - so I’m not sure if the wildfires and covid combination created the backlog or not. I’m just pleased that they both arrived, eventually! They were both tracked and signed but that didn’t really mean anything as they both said delivered on the Royal Mail site and the original said delivered on the USPS site (the other one said it was with agent)
I’ve turned off US postage options in my shop for the time being though.

I stopped selling internationally several years ago - too many parcels disappearing into black holes resulting in significant financial losses.

I sent a personal package to NZ back in June this year without tracking and that package has never arrived, so that just strengthens my resolve to never go back to selling internationally.

I read somewhere the other day that there are Covid delivery delays with Royal Mail again (I haven’t noticed myself) but I did just have two parcels delivered by Royal Mail by a postman wearing a head torch! Looks like they may be putting extra rounds on.
Also, during covid, I’ve noticed that most of the delivery people have been really friendly and upbeat even when they’ve probably been rushed off of their feet. Hooray for all the delivery drivers

I always send my parcels tracked and signed and havn’t had an delays yet (£4.10 for UK) but I am sure there will be. I Sent a parcel to the USA, it arrived yesterday and in the usual time frame, tracked post. I prewarn customers that there may be delays in deliveries due to Covid when I send thank you emails.
I have a parcel to go to france on Monday so fingerz crossed all stays well.

Seems a little unfair to drop a review down because of postage especially when we are in a situation like the present Covid one. I thought customers would be more understanding of the situation, I’m sure anyone looking at your reviews will realise this is a one off and overall they are brilliant.

I did think that too, but never mind. Thank you so much for your kind words xx
