Hi everyone, this is the place to show and chat about all things Art on Wednesday 2nd April
Look forward to seeing all your art today
I will start us off by showing one of my Art In Wax pieces …
This is a beeswax, panel, I have painted using a special US brand of handmade wax medium onto a wood panel, that has been prepared using a special encaustic gesso.
These wax on wood pieces are very different from the paintings I do on encaustic card, I use a different wax paint for them, which drys in minutes, the wax on wood ones need to cure and harden over a period of time, a bit like oils take to dry out …
Morning Hazel, that’s lovely. I’ll show something of mine later when I’m on the pc. (Am Mobile atm)
@JOYSofGLASS your glass work is beautiful, I for one would certainly count it as art. Feel free to post and chat in this thread more often - everyone is welcome.
Nice and bright and cheerful Hazel, yet another lovely piece from you…
Here’s my new item for today, part of my Cornwall collection (the frame’s not included)
Look forward to seeing your Art today Stephie
That looks great in the frame Trevor,
I think staging our artwork is tricky as we don’t know what one person will like and another will be put off by… I am going to mix things up a bit in future and maybe show a couple of example for each picture
Thought it was a belated April Fool - Help have we lost a day
Oooops …

This is a new piece of Art In Wax I am calling - By The Pond -

Hi all, time to catch up on all the goodies you’ve posted here today after a hard day’s work
Hazel your wood pieces are stunning, and that one is my favourite. By the Pond is lovely too.
Nice beach Trevor, looks great framed too.
Well done on the quick sale Stephie, your butterfly is very pretty.
My psychedelic sheep went down very well at work. My boss wanted me to pin it up on display in the office, but I brought him home where he’ll be safe smile
Thanks Margaret - that little yellow / golden coloured one is very pretty, I can see it from where I am sitting now until they sell all my wax on wood ones are on display in my lounge, safest place for them - and I can enjoy them until they have new homes !
That’s great your boss liked your sheep it is great - would be nice to have some art at work - as I say I do like to have art around me - not just mine either … My trees you painted are now in my office along with lots of other artists miniatures
I’m so glad you liked my trees enough to still have them displayed!
I have a little art on display on my desk, including a small crewel embroidery piece I did about 25 years ago and have displayed it on my various desks ever since. There’s also one of the poppy ACEOs I’ve bought from you and a little box canvas of daffodils from Imogen Skelly (Redpaint). I should have more art round me, but whenever I buy anything (which is pretty often!) it goes on display for the day till I take it home.
Yes Margaret I love my colourful trees
That’s nice you have some art around at work, I do think it’s nice to have a happy work space and art makes me happy, I know it does you too
