All the tales of bugs in food reminds of the reason I refused to eat cauliflower for years. My mother served up cauliflower cheese when I was about ten, complete with enormous boiled, bright pink caterpillars, and got mad with me for not simply removing them and eating what remained. I’m still scrupulous about examining cauliflower before cooking it. I also remember my sister finding a slug in her salad at school. When she reported it to the teacher on duty - the biology teacher, as it happened - said teacher replied: ‘Ooh, yummy, extra protein.’ and popped it in her mouth. Are you all suitably disgusted now?
I have loved you all to here, as I did yesterday, but I have nothing new to show you. My creative urge has simply vanished, and I have far too much in my shop anyway.

You just reminded me of how terrified I was of my dad’s loofah when I was little - I was convinced the holes were full of spiders! It fell in the bath with me once and I screamed the house down

Afternoon everyone.
All this talk of insects made me think of when I was at guide camp back in the 70s. I went to the toilet block in the dark carrying a hurricane lamp, yawned and ended up with a moth in my mouth. The scare me stiff even now

it all reminds me of when I was little and in a fish and chip restaurant with my parents. …I cut open my fish to be faced with the most enormous ( dead) stag beetle !!) I didn’t eat fried fish for years.

Despite no rain for a while, the pooches managed to get themselves very dirty on yesterdays walk! It shows particularly badly on the one that started white…

Not long back from spending the morning with my friend on a Werewolf walk, coffee and scones at Runnymede.

Good afternoon from a drenched South West Scotland
I have just finished a 4 day Arts and Crafts Trail which was reduced to 3 days because of a yellow weather warning.
